Noticed the ads all had average weather, and definitely noticed no rain or water. Weather is unpredictable. Im still shocked a watch this price is not waterproof.

Its IPX7 (like the first years of Garmin watches which certainly used for training in the rain) I got a feeling you knew that, yet you commented with mock shock anyway...

Also, its a feel good commercial, not a documentary on disaster relief in a typhoon.

The "Us" ad is quite excellent. Lots of emotion, good, bad, and connecting with people. Great job Apple!

I thought it was pretty bad to be honest. What's the real message behind it? Not only do I not really see it trying to "connect" people in the way Apple wants it to portray, but why would they (from a marketing standpoint) depict the other side of the coin about instances where it doesn't work? "Us" didn't really feel genuine.

All really good, love the "Us" one first - somehow it conveys the emotion of human connection without even using words... stunning!

'Us' is easily my favourite ad.

Wow, those watches must have new software. Didn't see any lagging at all......#

They're not running Android Wear.

I'll see myself out. ;)

It is water proof in still water up to one metre, according to the Apple Store employee who just helped me try on a Watch.

"Us" is an ad attempting to appeal to women buyers. My first impression of "Us" was that the ad was very geared towards heterosexual couples and wondered if any same sex couples would be featured. Then I realized that "Us" was trying to show how the Watch could allow couples to stay and become more connected with each other, which would be very appealing to women.

Much of the Watch marketing has been a reachout to the female market and I'll be curious to see how successful Apple is in reaching that segment.

Sir. Let's get something straight.
I'm not being rude by looking at the time very five mnutes.
I'm actually checking in on my Apple Watch.
And if it says I have to look at my iPhone to read an email. I will.
And if it says the power is low. I'll charge it. Immediately.
And if I have to mix some iTunes music first. That'll occur pronto.
So until then you'll just have the good manners to wait until it says otherwise before I can have an uninterrupted face to face with you. Yes?.

By the way. While I've got a spare minute ... Do you think this red watch band colour goes with your flushed-angry face colour?

Before it launches?

I've already got mine #⌚️#

Honestly. It's not in any way pretty. Big, strangely shaped and sure geeky looking.
The ways to "connect" that it presents are geeky, at best, if not downright stupid (like the heartbeat).
None of the use cases apply to me, at all. I do not have that hectic life depicted in the ads, am I a lesser human?

I took my wrist watch off almost 20 years ago, there's _no way_ I'm gonna put something back on again.

Could somebody also please tell me what the heck is up with everybody all of a sudden having a _need_ to measure every muscle move they make? Ffs just get on with it, there's absolutely no need to get numbers (and I'm pretty sure they're quite inaccurate anyways) on you're every step.

So, we're now getting multi million $ worth of advertising of a geek tool Apple hopes to make in to fashion, but they can't fix serious security flaws in their OSes. Great.

The watch is here! The watch is here! Um...it's a friggin watch people. Lol. Seriously. I'm an Apple fan, but even I think these ads have an overblown sense of self importance.

It's almost as if they're trying to promote a product!

Maybe i am dense, but what does the middle segment of "Us" mean, where woman seem to be unhappy? The first one has missed several calls, right? Why sad face? Just call back. Dito the next 2. I do not see the message, how Apple Watch can help those.

To each their own, right? Or are you unfamiliar with that concept?

Right... Security flaws compared to what exactly, a blackphone?
You think Apple with 100K employees can't work on two things at once?
Hey, security people drop everything and go work on the watch...

As for the rest,

Got it, you don't get it. That's fine. Your entitled to your point of view.

Others get it (many of them involved in fashion) and they'll buy it. They'll sell 15-20M by the end of the year and probably 30-40M next year. Guess all those people will just have to accept their fate and be "geeks". the horror.

Everyone's different. Aint life grand.

"The Watch is here!" .... kinda, sorta

I am a devout Apple fan but I had to laugh since the average Joe or Jane can't readily get one. Most folks who own Apple devices know that there are always launch shortages but many could possibly be disappointed to view the ads and then discover that there is a substantial lead time in actually acquiring one.

Still, these are great ads! They give the impression that this in indeed an important accessory and also that it is clearly more convenient than reaching for your phone.

Unlike Apple's iPhone ads - these do little for me. They certainly don't get me excited about what the watch can do.

The first two ads are at least interesting (not overly compelling). But the US ad is awful.

Nope. Still no effect on me. Just looks like a digital handcuff that is going to addict us more to information.

Apple is proud coz these mean people won't be looking at their phones as much, spending as much time on their phones, but i can see these becoming an even greater addiction. Until we can have them embedded, we'll just have to wear them on our wrists.

I am surrounded by Apple gadgets, but this one has no appeal to me. I certainly do not find it attractive. It looks too big and like amini iPhone 3 strapped to folks' wrists.

Maybe the Jobsian Reality Distortion Field has lost its grip on me. :/

I don't think there's anything that ad that tries to really appeal specifically to women. In case that was their intention, I don't think they did a very good job.

I do however agree with you that a lot of the marketing behind the watch has revolved around trying to reach out towards potential female users.

Great ads too bad none of the most hardcore Apple fans aren't getting one!!!! Hate you apple Tim Cook great launch, NOT

3:02 SSSB, EOD, Silence..........

Beautiful people in beautiful surroundings with beautiful lives - and they all have watches on launch day!

So that means they were all sitting up in their underwear at 3am two weeks ago, downing coffee and frantically hitting refresh on their browsers. :)

Not looking so suave and debonair now.

Nice ads, nonetheless.
