Unlike Apple's iPhone ads - these do little for me. They certainly don't get me excited about what the watch can do..

^^ This.

Great ads and marketing and that's what seems to be getting most of the praise even in this thread. The product is cool but yet another me too product really. I was expecting to see a bit more only Apple featured capabilities or something to make users say I gotta have that. Outside opening a door at a hotel which even in my extensive travels I've yet to see readily installed or Apple Pay I see nothing unique here.

It is interesting to see that they don't show anyone replying to notifications or using the phone.

Love it that Apple's ads focus on the product and not the competition.

Apple ads never focus on competition. In my opinion apple sees themselves as the best, so no need to compare to products below theirs.

They save competiton digs for the keynotes.

----------

Good ads, make you feel good inside , but don't really sell the capabilities of the watch, or promote its features. I'm sure future ads will focus more on the watch

...you mean they don't do that anymore ;)

The first two ads are at least interesting (not overly compelling). But the US ad is awful.

Yeah, the US ad seems to be way overpromising: It fixes broken relationships? Really?

And why's the relationship broken? Oh yeah, hubby spends too much time on the internet late at night. :D. So, yeah, let's hard-wire him to it 24/7. That'll fix it!

Noticed the ads all had average weather, and definitely noticed no rain or water. Weather is unpredictable. Im still shocked a watch this price is not waterproof.

Lots of regular watches are not waterproof and survive the rain just fine. The apple watch is water resistant so it should be fine.

Beautiful people in beautiful surroundings with beautiful lives - and they all have watches on launch day!

So that means they were all sitting up in their underwear at 3am two weeks ago, downing coffee and frantically hitting refresh on their browsers. :)

Not looking so suave and debonair now.

Nice ads, nonetheless.

:p This is what I was thinking.

The videos were well shot, but I couldn't care about the Watch itself in them. I just thought "damn, I wouldn't mind living somewhere like that."

Honestly. It's not in any way pretty. Big, strangely shaped and sure geeky looking.

Have you seen these in person? They're tiny.

So tiny, in fact, there's a blog post about how they're too small.

You're so cheerful, you must be fun at parties. Lighten up, you'll live longer.

The watch is here! The watch is here! Um...it's a friggin watch people. Lol. Seriously. I'm an Apple fan, but even I think these ads have an overblown sense of self importance.

I know this is bait. But still:

"THE iPAD IS JUST A BIGGER iPHONE PEOPLE! CALM DOWN!"

Yeah, we know how that went.
I mean, would it really cost you that much to just keep silent for a few weeks and wait see how the thing rolled out instead of making such pointless statements?

Why do people insist on waterproof? Most electronics aren't. IPX7 is perfectly fine for most applications, especially for something with this amount of technology in it. IPX7 water resistance is fine for rain and most daily water exposure. It's just not for swimming.

I agree with your latter comments. But your comment about most electronics is a bit off given that many electronics are not watches and jewelry - both items most customers would prefer to not concern themselves with whether or not it's getting wet.

I'm pretty sure most people here would still love it if Apple waterproofed their iPhones.

Oh please. I think you get the "cynic" of the year award. What do you expect Apple to put in an ad? "Hey, we have a watch. We think you might like it."

Apple makes great products and they make great ads to demonstrate those products. I'm sorry you can't see that. Perhaps the "overblown sense of self importance" lies elsewhere.

I like the 'Us' one most, showed off little new ways to communicate and also how allows little glances and your communications.

I think the real concern is around something very real.....like washing hands or doing dishes. I do both regularly with my Gear S on and yes, I have splashed it with water and in one case grabbed a cup under water dunking it in by accident.

It was fine and had zero issues. Just a couple drops of water came out of the speaker hole but again, no issues. If the watch is IPX7 it should be fine for these situations. I just think it's a matter of the general public wants to hear it in layman's terms.

great ads in classic Apple style. makes me actually want to buy this thing. unlike the photos of celebrities wearing a gold Apple watch (that they got for free and I could never afford) upside down.

The 'Us' version made me remember how lonely and depressed i am. (Recent breakup)

Thanks Apple!

Apple always makes great emotional/personal ads. Makes me want one but I like my watches too much to wear only one.
