So the millions of 16gb users that watch this ad and discover/try the cool 4k video will now realize their 16gb is obscenely planned for obsolescence and will have to sell their phone, shell out $800 for new one, and waste $200-300 in the process. Brilliant, awesome job Apple for milking the userbase with planned obsolescence, investors rejoyce.

They have to find buyers for the iPhone 7 somehow

Ok I'm on a roll with youtube. One more before I have to get back to my actual paying job: I *hated* these Siri ads, but loved the Parody's they inspired. Rock God was funnier, but it's NSFW due to language so I'll go with this one instead:

If you plan on shooting a lot of 4K video, Apple has a memory upgrade available. if you don't, or don't have a lot of music/apps, the base 16GB phone works fine.

Options are nice. Pick the device that suits your needs.

Well, let's hope someone is telling them that in the store. Too late for those who already bought their 6s last September.

*DISCLAIMER: To use these exciting new 4K video recommendations, Apple recommends you purchase more than the 16GB base model phones -- for you the iPhone starts $100 higher.

Stop it. People should be able to get whatever they want, whenever they want, regardless of their financial situation. And Apple should underwrite it. Because, you know they're rich. And rich companies should always give sh** away for free.

Guess what? My Apple TV does 4K, people does not know that the new Apple TV can do 4K. If you have a 4K tv, this will change the resolution and your Apple TV content too....Looks amazing

ewww phone 4k. Always looks meh. I prefer 1080p from proper cameras anyday over that hot mess.

I know 4k is a NIGHT and DAY difference and blow it out the water yadda yadda, it's cute when you say that, lie to me baby!

Waiting for 8k and the 3 days and 3 nights difference, and blows it out of the ocean difference its will bring.

You can't say night and day anymore, we already had that difference many times you guys need to add better :p

Nope. Unless you live in the future or an alternate universe, your :apple:TV output is capped at 1080p. Your 4K TV might be upscaling that to 4K but it will do the same with <SD video if you want to dig up an old VCR and hook it up. That doesn't mean that old VCR outputs 4K either.

Apple advertising two features that are standard on every flagship I see.

Is Apple only supposed to advertise features that no other phones have?

They never said it's the only phone with 4k resolution. They're just making the point that the iPhone has a really good camera.

I wouldn't consider 4K video a real feature unless the camera actually does it well. Back when the iPhone 4 had 720p vs Google's Nexus (and other Android phones) having 1080p, the video from the Nexus was clearly much worse in quality. I guess it was from noise due to cramming too many pixels into the digital camera. Maybe you've seen other phones shooting better quality video than the 6S, but I've only ever seen gimmicks.

Oh and btw, the rest of the industry has already moved to 32gb, while Apple still keeps 16gb for 9 years (since 2007), even though it costs $5 to make 32gb default. But keep advertising 4k video and milking the userbase, surely Apple will be able to increase profit margins from 40% to 41% this year :)

You should give people credit for buying the phone that meets their needs. Because you could be fooled doesn't mean everyone else would. Most people do well with the 16gb model and Apple sells a ton of those.

If you need more storage the solution is easy - pay for it. Otherwise there are loads of other manufacturers you can choose from, such as Sanyo and Samsung, where you can find a phone that makes you happy. Take responsibility for your needs. Most others have.
