But then again, it's Apple earphones. Since when have they produced something of high quality?

But then again, you've never even seen a pair of Airpods in real life. You know literally nothing about what you're talking about.

How well would these be for riding bikes/ motorcycles or jogging? I cant imagine they would stay put.

I doubt these were made for high mobility. Not seeing a mechanism that would anchor them in the ear.

Not taking advice from someone who thinks Beats is good. Thanks anyways.

Five hours of battery life isn't that impressive but 15 minute of charge gives you three hours... That is impressive. I like how you can simply tap an AirPod to activate Siri as well.

Right, because you know of so many better sounding Bluetooth headphones right? The Bluetooth is the audio quality limitation, doesn't matter who makes them really. Beats makes good ones for working out that don't fall out and have great battery life. Now, they're going to have this W1 chip and whatever advantage that brings.

5 hours is useless, I work 9 hours and need 12 hours per day...... I'd rather the 3.5mm jack, I don't need stereo speakers built into the phone, I don't even need one speaker, they're small and crap and I only ever have my phone in vibrate... I never use the built in speakers.

So the lighting earpeace are not good for your 9 hours per day work? Bad news for you. 3.5mm jack is gone bye bye and this iPhone 7 will sell like a hot cake regardless.

Really think I'll get these when they're released. Seem useful for music/podcast listening as always and I really like the feature that directs the 2nd stereo channel to one earpiece when only one is in - really useful for office/home office conferencing when you want one ear free.

They do make at least one good product. I'm not going to bother debating it with somebody who trash-talks products they've never used or even seen 'in the flesh'.

You're clearly just here to vent. Why don't you scream out of an open window and save us having to skip your posts?

"If you see a dongle, 'they blew it'."
Steve Jobs

This crowd just mostly ripped into Woz the other day for calling the headphone jack removal a mistake.

If Jobs said that- and I think I recall he did- do you really want to set up a clash of the titans here... where this crowd has to choose to rip Jobs or rip Apple? It might cause some guys to completely meltdown to choose between God in human form and God in corporate form.;)

Edit: we recalled a Jobs quote wrong...

Pretty sure he didn't. He said "stylus", not "dongle"

So dongles are OK!

The stick hanging down is probably just for that....to give some directional weight to hold them in your ears similar to how the cord hanging down on earbuds helps hold them in.
It's also where the battery is stored, so it's got some weight.

interesting product. Interesting case. Something about the design leads me to believe that it will not be an improvement in sound quality. I still have my corded earbuds and they are functional. I take care of them and the cords are not bent or frayed.
I will save my money.

I gotta say, these caught my attention more than anything else so far. I'm a little disappointed at the 5 hours of battery life, but the battery case was a great idea.

EDIT: $159!? NOPE

$159!!!

On top of that it looks kind of ugly the way they stick out like that. I'm hoping gen. 2 looks better or there's some better looking 3rd party option. More like AirFuglies or tech earrings.

how innovative apple. we are back in the era of bluetooth earpieces.

They stick out because the extended pieces are directional microphones.
