I always look for this comment, and it never fails to make me laugh. Every time.
ha! same for me -"It's Happening" continues to crack me up every time too.

I think a lot fan bois here are just being giddy and no amount of trolling can throw them off. Looks to be a great event. I still think the iPad Pro with a stylus will be a monster product. Well at least for me. Give me a way to handwrite, dictate and draw in one mindmap-esque app. It would be huge especially if apple introduces the app at the event.

I didn't ask them about their immigration status.

Wow, some people...

I was referring to these so-called "janitors'" weapons, not their immigration status. I'm not even from the American continent, nor have I ever given a fad about American immigration laws.

Wow, some people and their amendments and preconceptions...

What makes you think I'm angry? I'm a little disappointed in people's reaction ("Apple can do no wrong"), but I shouldn't be surprised, I guess. I tend to respond thoughtfully to those who post thoughtful replies, and one liners who post the same. I'm sorry I'm good so at it!

I don't know why you think I made it up. Going by your name calling I'm guessing you're the one who's angry. But angry at what? That I reported what I saw? That Apple isn't a saint? That hopeless people have miserable lives?

Maybe you should quit while you're behind.

The iPhone 5 that came out in 2012 had 1gb of ram. 3 years later and the phone still has 1 Gb of ram while new phones are pushing 3gb and up. Not sure why the phone still can't even multitask. You cannot stay connected to an irc app in the background. It is almost 2016!

Funny how those 3G phone still can't handle one tasks, let alone two... Yes, laggy, lag, lag... But, hey, they got 3Gb...

IOS is based on Unix so off course it can multitask, it is the dev API limits what can be done by a third party in the background (some things are allowed, some others aren't), essentially to stop things like crap battery life that exists in most Android phones once people have a few apps going... If anyone could be called a "wall hugger", it's those laggy multitaskers...

Not even sure IOS 9 changes this. It allows a second app to be open, but not a random number of background apps doing whatever they want.

I just got an iPhone 6 plus and my HTC one m8 from last year is a lot faster than it. It is almost 2015 and battery capacity is a lot higher than it was as in 2007 so I don't get that battery life argument. That's like saying your laptop can't multitasking because of battery life concerns. Ios 9 does not change anything. Unless people start voting with their wallets nothing will change and as long as apple continues to enjoy an extremely high margin they don't care.

Well, crud. This whole time, I've been thinking the event was on Tuesday, and now I have to rethink my whole strategy. (Am in office all day Tuesday, but will be heading out to a conference on Wednesday PM).

Well, the thing is, if you open your eyes, you can see! I live in the epicentre of the homeless problem in SF. Many homeless are mentally ill, and it's pretty easy to spot them - because they behave like people who are mentally ill.

Maybe you should open YOUR eyes. So now you're a doctor or a psycho-therapist? Homeless people are mentally ill because they behave like their mentally ill??? HUH???? Ever thought that homeless people act unstable because of a high possibility of being malnourished?

The fact that they sleep out on the cold streets at night with malaria-infested insects biting them. Maybe due to all of this they aren't feeling physically well? Thank goodness I finally realize who and what I am dealing with. This will be my final post towards you. I want to get back to the TV discussion. You know that discussion that you've been desperately trying to hijack with your "truthful stories". ;)

I think this is too big for just a normal announcement. Even if they are announcing new iPhone, TV, laptops and iPad, I have a feeling something else that nobody is expecting will come up.

With all the decorations, and a myriad of rumors flying around, seemingly more than normal, I think Apple is covering up something big. Classic misdirection. We shall see.

Nah. What you see is what you're gonna get. Nothing surprising or spectacular. I'm really excited for the things I know are being announced. Don't get your hopes up for anything else or you're gonna walk away disappointed.

There is a lot of focus on Siri... I kind of think (hope) that this isn't just because Siri is coming to :apple:TV (maybe OSX too) but maybe.... just maybe.... Siri will leave beta and had a major upgrade that she desperately needs.

Optimists can never be pleasantly surprised.

Apple has tightly controlled the user experience since well forever.
That's why PEOPLE BUY THEIR PHONES.
There are always tradoff between various specs to give an overall better experience.

So, what your saying makes no sense at all.

BTW, even with NO APPS. most Android phones are worse in battery life than the Iphone out of the box despite being the smaller phone. There are more than battery size in how long a phone lasts.
That's a god damn fact. Check on Anandtech or similar sites.

When you put apps on, because Google doesn't give a crap about managing the user experience, any app can do whatever they want, including accessing any resource it see fit to access with you not being able to do anything about it (except delete the app), the experience gets even worse.

A lot of Android users have to micro manage their apps to get half decent battery time.
As can be seen in many Android forums.
That's something Apple users don't have to do.

One thing that's a hoot is that one of the reason that many Android last longer when for example playing games is that they throttle severely under load; you last longer by having a really crappy experience. Yep, that's how Android works; give you more of something useless by giving you less of something useful...

That old refrain about leaving...
Well, since you seem to have no clue about Apple's design philosophy since the 1980s!
Maybe you're not a good match to an Apple product.

I'm sure you'll find some appropriate magical Android brick to own.

You say all this from experience or what you read on the internet?

Lol, Christ I genuinely HATE annoying posts like this!!!
If you want to only have conversations with people who are NOT passionate about technology at all & do NOT have strong opinions about Apple products, why don't you go hang out on www.wedontreallycarethatmuchaboutapplestuffatall.com. This is macrumors.com! Guess what?? People have opinions here... Furthermore (drumroll please) they are actually allowed to!!!! =)
It doesn't bother me at ALL when people here speak passionately from their hearts. I think it is awesome! It makes me happy & makes me feel welcome to share my opinions unfettered.
I do NOT respect nor appreciate what I consider narrow minded bullies that come on here and try to paint a negative light on people and their opinions.
If you think it's "just a phone", and not worth having opinions on, & are only going to seek belittling those who do.... why exactly are you here?? Just trying to feed a superiority complex... enable your own reality where if people don't agree with you they must be "taking angry pills"??

Anyways, that's my opinion on your pompous attitude towards other members, "fella".
Ok, I'm going to go "chill out" now.

My little thumb told me; I'm sure its expertise and the 30 years of engineering of the person attached to it somehow, entitles me to give a pretty decent ballpark opinion on the subject... Thanks for the concern about my abilities though; they are duly noted and classified in my circular filing cabinet.
