How funny would it be if there were NEVER any plans to produce an iPad Pro and this is all just the figment of the imagination of those "unnamed sources". Maybe some of it planted by Apple, who knows. The whole idea of an iPad Pro just seems really silly to me. I don't exactly see people in companies clamoring to use an iPad anymore so to design something specifically for enterprise use seems weird. But what do I know!

----------

That's exactly why I think this thing is just a unicorn. There's no reason for such an iPad to exist except for very, very limited scenarios. Why would you mobilize your army of suppliers for something like this? There has to be something more. And if there isn't, then it never was meant to be in the first place despite what all these in-the-know journalists have been saying.

To be fair to the journalists, they brought up an Apple Watch like three years ago.

To me the biggest benefit of the this device would be for music creation apps. Much easier to play a virtual piano on a larger screen.

Also -- reading comics (of course!).

anyone else notice the face?

anyone else notice the face looking to the left with long hair in these Yosemite pics? reminds me of this...

Never really thought it would launch before the next annual iPad refresh. I just hope they move the iPhone annual refresh back to June or July so everything doesn't all come out at the same time. IMO that's why iPad sales are struggling.

Is an actual update to the iPad mini a possibility for Monday? It doesn't seem like them to leave one iPad line behind in design and features compared to the other one when in 2013 they were on the same page..

I still find it funny that press/analysts refer to things like this as a delay.

There's been no announcement as to availability for sale.

Do we actually know if this is happening? Honestly this product seems uncharacteristic of Apple, but that's just me.

How would iPad Pro suite businesses more than the current range of iPads - unless it gets its own iOS enhancements?

I'm very sure the 12" is going to happen - but without enhancements to use the extra screen size - not sure what benefits there are over the current range.

Apple is planning to use the "iPad Pro," as the media calls it, to boost its flagging iPad sales. The tablet is expected to measure in somewhere between 12.2 and 12.9 inches, dwarfing both the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and the 7.9-inch iPad mini 3.

Dropping iPad prices across the board by $50-$100 would be more effective at driving sales. Most people I know think the 64GB iPad Air 2 at $600 is expensive enough already. I don't see much of a market for a $700-$900 iPad Pro unless there's going to be a lot more to it than just a large screen, better quality speakers, and a stylus.

The iPad mini was just refreshed in the fall. It was dubbed the iPhone 6 Plus.

Delayed? Nooooooo!!!!

Lol. Actually, I don't care. Wasn't going to buy such a huge iPad. But I am curious what new features it may have over previous iPads. If it's just screen size...meh.

I'm completely "meh" about the 12" iPad - unless...

I don't see me getting a 12" model unless ....

You said it twice. You are so going to get the iPad Pro. and while you are confessing. You might as well admit that you are going to get the Apple Watch II when it comes out, even though you love your Apple Watch I.

Delayed? But I am curious ...

I see a sales opportunity opening. You are curious eh?

I've been using my iPad for several years now, and I am realizing I really don't like tablets that much. My next purchase will be the latest version of the the MacBook Air. Tablets are too limited for my needs. I think a lot of people agree, and the sales numbers show this.

You must be looking for the X-files thread. Move along.

Maybe everyone who wanted one bought one in the last 5 years

One thing you can bank on is one of the current iPad sizes will be killed if a 12" comes to pass. My Bet is the mini will die because it bumps up pretty close to the iPhone 6plus.

I've got a 6plus and expected not to use my mini any more so I was fully prepared to sell it or pass it on to family. You know what? Totally different device and I still use the iPad mini a lot. A 6plus actually has about 50% of the physical screen of an iPad mini - two pluses side by side is about the same size as a mini screen. Not to mention there are apps which are iPad only, or just work better on an iPad. The 6plus is a big phone and I like the extra screen space but I use the iPad more when I can sit down and relax.

For Pro Photographers

For professional photographers wondering "why Apple abandoned" them with Photos app, the iPad Pro is the other shoe that has yet to drop.

Photos app on a Mac is perfectly suited for a desktop/laptop. Detailed editing such as brush work is better suited to direct manipulation on an iPad.

An iPad Pro with a larger screen and a pressure sensitive stylus would be a photographers dream. Start editing and sorting images on the Mac app, pick up an iPad Pro to do more detailed editing and go back to the Mac where the edits are now applied.

Ha! Yeah I do. Large or plump nose, looking left. A woman, perhaps. Aged about 85? I have too much time on hands today...

Reminds me of the Commodore Amiga. A great product ahead of its' time that satisfied customers for a long long time. By releasing such a product Commodore put itself out of business. Volvo almost did the same thing...

Now you know why your 2 year old iPhone becomes slow after an update...

I've still got my Amiga 500! And my Commodore 128. Probably have a 64 still around somewhere. And tons of floppy disks :D

To me this proves that there will be digitizer support. Why would they be having so much trouble just producing a slightly larger display? They wouldn't.... Unless they were trying to perfect stylus input, which I think (and hope) they are :).

Surface Pro, yo. The only thing that MIGHT make me deviate away from my Surface addiction is the iPad Pro. But that's only if Apple starts respecting their iPad line more and start making it as more of a computer and not a play thing.
