It totally does

Fake news is fake news. Except not here

Russia is a real threat. China isn’t. Not here. Because it’s apple yay.

You guys have no platform to stand on, after all your hysteria— but please, keep quoting me and keep screeching. That’ll surely work if you do it enough.

RESIST! RESIST logic too! Logic is fascist!

Do you need help?

Yet it’s our own domestic problems we’ve refused to address for decades that gave us Trump. The Russians didn’t elect Trump, the EC did.

Let’s fix our “democracy” before resorting to a world war to deflect from our own failings.

Yet every Silicon Valley company (whom are also US defense contractors) is racing to “provide” internet access to Africa. Seeing as literally all network activity is scooped up in Iraq and Afghanistan (we built the infrastructure there) what in the world makes you believe our actions in Africa don’t at least mirror those of China?

At least China is building bridges, we’re building military drone bases and running spec ops all over the continent.

The major difference is the united states is a country of freedom and democracy. Sure we may spy on other countries to protect ourselves but we are not a predator nation. You obviously have no clue about chinese culture (business and extreme oppurtunistic predatory attitudes).

They don't even have history books written about Tianmen Square incident in 1989. Millenials growing up in china have zero clue to wtf that was about. China is like that person who watches two other people fight, won't participate, secretly plan an escape route without helping anyone else, and then come back to rob the people KO'ed if they have any value on them.

China does not HELP ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES. Building bridges? You mean raping the resources in Africa. Blood diamonds, minerals, oil, whatever that has value.

I’m not ignorant to capitalism, but it is funny to see someone state America isn’t a predator nation given the last 20 years of wars and the blatant aggression currently under way against Iran within the last 24 hours.

As for your other crap on Chinese culture...do you know of the concept of a “big bad” and how “otherizing” a population is part of the run up to war?

I’ll leave it at that.

I had to double check for a sarcasm tag in @JamieLannister's post.

Everything America has done since WW2 has been predatory and with the sole intention of keeping themselves in power.

Leave it at what? Your ignorance or love for china? There is no respect for IP from other companies in china. It's a double standard and sooner than later they will have enough resources to do whatever they want to the world. They are doing it now in the south asian seas.

You can sleep soundly at night because you are protected by that American Flag as a blanket. China gives zero fcuks about other nations unless it's tied to their wallet. ROI is more interesting than help building bridges and providing power and resources to Africa. They do not do anything without a calculated $ return.

The ignorance of some of you are astounding.

There’a nothing disgenious about it. Just because you voted for a compromised president doesn’t mean that hacking is no longer important. What are you even talking about? The only thing “1984” is that you apparently think we’re not allowed to talk about Russia infiltrating our election systems, because they helped the guy you voted for. Hacking from both Russia and China is important, and they are our biggest adversaries. The only thing disingenuous here is your mental gymnastics, and how you put your partisan politics over the defense of our country. You should be ashamed.

You missed the entire point of my post and you made the incorrect assumption that I am a US citizen Or that I would have voted for the anti-intellectual narcissistic Compulsive liar that is currently in office rather than the psychopathic narcissistic runner-up. But sure I am somehow involved in US party politics :)

In the book 1984 there was a constant need to change the enemy in order to bamboozle the public and to prevent them from questioning authority. In the 1960s this was done under the guise of worldwide communist takeover, Thereby justifying the installation of dictatorial regimes. The 1970s oil crisis change the policy towards the middle east, To ensure that the US would never again be beholden to OPEC (This incidentally led to a huge boon for the military industrial complex in terms of huge arms sales to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the past three presidents - Although the UK also got a bit of that action). Slowly as China became more technologically advanced it was convenient to outsource our manufacturing and our heavy pollution associated with that to China, In return for which they could copy Western technology. In the meantime during the early 2000's we had to focus our hatred again on terrorism - after all never let a good crisis go to waste (Rahm Emmanuel), During this time it was also convenient to pass the patriot act and gitmo, condone torture. Then the regime change meme started getting popular, A little bit of tweeting here a little bit of tweeting there and the whole Middle East can be up in flames, But let's not look at the fundamental causes of the financial crisis Or hold anyone accountable... And as the media gets billions of campaign dollars during the presidential election it was convenient for them to play the two candidates off against one another after all a close race means much more income for them. In addition the Internet out rage machine gives more click throughs... Now we can probably focus back again on China for a while in order to push forth some protectionism. Look, I'm sure that the Chinese are putting microphones in computers whilst the Russians are busy killing journalists critical of Putin and the USA politicians are playing identity politics.

America rejected Trump, given that he lost by several million votes, and the ongoing investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election to aid Republicans (which is a fact that has been confirmed by all of our intelligence agencies) has already resulted in dozens of convictions and over 10 (?) guilty pleas. Trump’s campaign manager was already given prison time and is now cooperating with federal prosecutors in regards the rest of his charges, which include Conspiracy against the United States.

They’re really approaching this like a mob case. Nail the smaller guys first, get them to flip, and then use them to take out the bigger criminals. Even if Trump isn’t directly guilty it’s quite clear several high ranking people in his campaign, which his consent, authorized talks with Russian agents in regards to trading favors and lifting sanctions and tearing up NATO in exchange for getting dirt on then candidate Hillary Clinton. Putin, the dirty authoritarian criminal he is, is the only person in the world Trump refuses to criticize. I wonder why.

IIRC having read the report regarding the DNC hackonly two of the intelligence agencies cited high likelihood and the NSA cited that it was very probable (The other 10 agencies did not perform an investigation - )Don't get me wrong I'm sure that Trump is corrupt, I just don't think within the margin of error that it was a landslide for Hillary - in fact if you don't count California then the nation is even more 50-50.

Hillary may have been more qualified but I don't think she is any better a person...

One could unkindly remark that America deserved either of those two as president.

And although NATO is beneficial to quite a few countries it also is expensive and trumps remarks regarding Germany signing a gas pipeline deal with Russia worth billions lost at the same time being a member of NATO is not The craziest observation that he has made. The situation with turkey being part of NATO is also somewhat of an albatross...

I never voted for Obama and never liked him because he was all talk, talk, and more talk. But I never disrespected him when he was president for 8 years. And if I hated him so much I would've returned my US citizenship and moved away to another country. The amount of disrespect shown by citizens in this country is beyond atrocious.

You may not like Trump but when you disrespect him along with many others, all other nations are just laughing at us. You can't stand united and want to be divided. Move away if you have so much hate for the president. complete hypocritical BS mouthing off like a crazed hyena when you can just put up or shut up.

You may not think china is a big deal with implanting backdoors or other spying means but that's just ignorance on your part. This is a huge deal.

1. I am not American. (Funny how so many posters here assume that I am). I found Obamas talk rather disingenuous and it was apalling that he received the peace prize despite starting so many bombing campaign's without congressional approval, But at least he gave the impression of being a much better person than Hillary (And of course significantly more self reflective than Trump could ever be)

2. Without engaging in what aboutism - I find outrage for China's alleged planting of spying equipment somewhat funny considering the NSA revelations where they even spied on partners like Germany not to mention planting stuff into Cisco routers, Oh and and prism...
As well as the underwater cable hacks (tubular bells?). Et tu brutus. Honestly what do you expect them to do, sit there and be happy as The US continues it's 60 year policy of USA first?

Dictated on a telephone therefore strange capitalization

But muh corporate profits.....

To make it work in an American plant economically, it would have to be a robot factory doing the assembling. The materials and devices made as parts of the phone come, literally, from all over the world. The reason why we didn’t grab up the technological lead, go back to the last American designed and manufactured television sometime in the ‘60s or ‘70s. One company alone cannot put the tech sector back together. It would take at least 10 years and a lot of government money spent on education and infrastructure. But we also want to maintain good trading relations with China.

That's it in a nutshell, though I would say it's more the oligarchic control of the USA that drives it, not the population itself.

No. They do tell them not to say anything. If they say there has been no FBI investigation, there has been none. That they know of.
no. they can be told to say nothing. They cannot be told to lie. And if they lie, they are subject to charges of fraud and SEC violations.

Are we sure that the sweeping changes made after 9/11 makes that true? There are secret interpretations involving things like NSL's that we're not privy to. For years companies had to use "canary" tactics to tip people off as to whether they've received such letters.

I don't think people really realize how much power we handed to intelligence powers in the aftermath of 9/11.

The first line was a legitimate question btw, this is an extremely foggy area. I don't think we're going to get to know many things for decades (if ever).

Somebody in Apple was channeling The Rainmaker when they penned this.

“Dear Bloomberg: On seven prior occasions this company has denied your claim in writing. We now deny it for the eighth and final time. You must be stupid, stupid stupid, stupid!”

This is why there are "warrant canaries." First amendment won't let the government COMPEL speech, but in some cases they can tell you to shut up. The warrant canary takes advantage of that. Someone serves a warrant on me and I can't tell my customers. But i can keep my mouth shut, which is a signal that someone served a warrant on me.

Could this be why Timmy went on the offensive with that reporter about security, data and China?

He knew this story was coming out.
He probably knew the story was coming out because they asked for comments many times apparently, but wouldn't accept their responses. Basically, they were expecting a bullsh!t story.

I'm not a liberal, you're just embarrassing yourself, the right, and human beings in general.

...After telling me to stop talking, I’m embarrassing. Haha!

You totally embody grumpy cat’s
Spirit.so Go suck on a lemon and resist screech it’s Doing you lots of good

Also So Why is no one admitting to be a leftist anymore while at the same time holding leftist views like wanting to silence people?

Because it’s increasingly an indefensible and generally hateful stance wrapped up in the facade of “tolerance”, to try to endlessly defend, that’s why!

I better go over my G5 servers to make sure they haven't been chipped. Maybe it's time to upgrade to Intel servers.
