I got my 6S, you know what else I’m enjoying? An extra £1k in my pocket. You know what I’m missing? A slightly nicer display and some animated emojis I’ll never use. Sounds good to me.
You are also missing an entirely different camera system. Regular iPhones are not even comparable to the Plus models in that regard, let alone the X.

If you want to have meetings all day long, it sounds like this new campus layout is optimized for that business function. I wonder what iOS 12 features he is hinting about?

I hate the open office concept for actually tech work though. Open office just means I need to come in early or work late or come in during the weekends or work from home.

The only thing that doesn't recede in Apple are the prices and the margins.
[doublepost=1510259616][/doublepost]Ahh.... so that was the thinking behind abandoning Apple hardware updates... receding. Tim Cook's Apple is so full of it.

The iPhone X, Ive says, was designed to serve as a vessel for software, with a design that melds into the background. Apple's design team has always aimed to "get design out of the way." "We try to define a solution that seems so inevitable that it does recede," he said.

So a receding hairline actually was the inspiration for the notch!
I admit, I was thinking it, too! :D

Seeing what Samsung can do with a real bevel-less design, I was hoping Apple would make the iPhone X evolve similarly, so there is no bevel. As it is now, it feels or looks Fisher Price compared to Samsung's (in my opinion). I'm holding out for next version with a "Plus" size screen.

Change and evolve... let’s hope so! Some of the UI choices made ahead of shipping this thing don’t appear to have been very well thought out. Suspect we’ll be waiting for iOS 12 though

Frankly, I think I'm a better candidate to be Chief Design Officer. I've designed a few posters and yard sale flyers in the past so you can say that I have an "eye for design." First order of business is removing the TrueDepth camera system. I'd would force the designers to hide it or just get rid of it. It's too ugly. I would bring back Touch ID and relocate it to the back of the device. Much better design according to my standards.

You would be a great designer at any generic Android smartphone producing company.:D

oh, those iPhone 8 owners = haters LOL
I don't even see that notch at all on my iPhone X. Keep telling that to yourself while enjoying your 2014 bezels haha
You must be one of a minority who doesnt see the notch. Every respected reviewer and person I know in real life - even the Xfans, all say the notch sticks out like a sore thumb LOL

ANYWAY. To bring the topic back from the tangent u just tried to steer it to - Im not hating on the X, im noting how hilarious and unjustified everything King Ivos said is.

Hahahaha!! Apples design doesnt meld into the background!!! The notch is proof of that. If they wanted a vessel for software, they would have gone for a screen design similar to Samsungs S8.

Thanks for the laughter Ivosss!!!

So… your solution is re-adding the complete forehead and chin, instead of having 90% of the display go to the edge? I'm gonna have to side with Apple on this one.

Won’t minimizing the notch over time create more problems with screen shape fragmentation in the App Store?

This is exactly why Apple's design standards state to not bring any special attention to the notch. So when they eventually do remove the notch, everything should just work nicely.

"What I think is remarkable about the iPhone X is that its functionality is so determined by software..."

I definitely ready this in his voice, it's remarkable.
