I'm a photographer and hoped to use the IPAD for travel. I take between 400-800 images a day and would easily welcome a USB port accessed file unload. Right now the only way is through POGOPLUG through the internet or jail breaking the IPAD, neither of which sounds like a useful idea.
I will wait for the release of other tablets to see which one best meets my requirements. Since all I have are Macs, clearly an Apple solution would be my choice, but for loading, viewing and storing I really want external storage through USB.
I'm a photographer too, and that's why I have the Camera Connection Kit. It's a great replacement for those Epson Image tanks from before. Having said that, I wouldn't dump all my 800 photos in a shoot direct to my iPad. 64GB ain't a lot for my shoots, since i usually shoot Raw. Cheaper to buy more memory cards. Maybe I'll put in a few for viewing in the iPad but that's it.
But that's me. Either way, get the camera connection kit, it's a must have for iPad toting photographers.
