We can send a message to Apple, I cancelled my Apple One subscription for all it's done for the felon. I explained I won't purchase another apple product nor subscribe again unless they change, but, I didn't know they were donating to this farce. Anyway, you don't like this you can cancel your apple subscription(s) and tell them why: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

My mistake then. I stand corrected. My original post still applies. It’s being paid for by private donors and not taxpayers. Renovations and alterations have gone on at the White House for years and no one gave a **** until now. There’s other things more important.
Surely you can see the difference between congress deciding to update the HVAC and security systems, and the president deciding to demolish the East Wing without congressional approval after repeatedly lying to everyone about the scope of the project.

Yeah! You tell that evil Apple corporation! From your iPhone! That’ll really show em you mean business! Down with corporations!

Absolutely disgusting

This turns me off from Apple so much.

So many companies are donating that it’s basically impossible to shun products from all of them, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon.

Sure you could get an Android phone and install a de-googled GrapheneOS ROM but Amazon Web Service owns a 30% chunk of the cloud computing market, odds are you’ll be visiting sites that run on it.

This is disgusting. Speaking as an Apple customer of over 40 years, a stockholder for most of that time, and a historian as well, Apple should not be supporting this act of cultural vandalism in any way, shape, or form. It is the worst decision I have ever seen this company make, bar none -- and I've witnessed a few doozies.

For those who do not understand the issues, which is probably everyone who supports this abomination, the White House is a listed National Historic Landmark. Not part of it, not the parts any given president decides are part of it -- all of it. And because the White House belongs to the American people, and not to any one person who occupies it for a term of office, a review process is required of all changes made. Until Trump, presidents honored this responsibility.

Further, why would any American even think the White House needs a massive ballroom? The Founders certainly would be appalled by the idea. American presidents have always lived in a residence, not a palace. Until now.

And one more item. Anyone who is riding the "look at all the money Obama spent" hobby horse is advised to get off it. This is basically a baldfaced lie. This was a properly reviewed infrastructure project funded by Congress during the Bush administration. It was to preserve the White House, not destroy it. It was everything the Trump vandalism is not.

I am honesty surprised that the White House doesn’t already have a space like this.
I think there was a proposal decades ago to build a large space like this, but it never came to fruition. I remember they had to put up a large tent at least once (maybe more times) due to a lack of space. I’m sure future presidents, both Republican and Democrat, will be grateful for the space when they’re hosting special events. I think it’s just the optics and timing that may look bad depending on your perspective and/or party affiliation.

No big deal at the end of the day, i doubt what Apple donated barely registers on their bottom line, and if is prevents the Snowflake-in-Chief in having a tantrum and costing the company billions then its money well spent.

I'm sure the ballroom will be as tasteful as the rest of the gold drivel the idiot is inflicting on Americans.

Anyone disgusted about this, it would be a good idea to send an e-mail to the Cookie about this. He often says he reads the wonderful e-mails he gets from customers. Maybe lots of people sending him an e-mail of disgust would do him good. This is really really gross

What did you expect?
That Apple would have some kind of moral compass?

Apple is a company and its sole objective is to increase profits.
Believe me, as soon as Trump says “DEI also affects the board”, Cook will be fired, and as soon as Trump says “solar installations are proof of a conspiracy,” Apple will tear every panel off its buildings.

In the end, the shareholders decide. And shareholders don't like it when the stock price falls or stays the same.

On the other hand, do you know of a single user in the world who will stop buying Apple products because of Trump? (I mean in real life, not on forums.)

I wish Trump was even just 10% of what democrats accuse him. Democracy is a failed experiment, the best countries in the world at this point are monarchies, dictatorships, or some other autocratic system. Its an illusion of choice. Both parties are complete garbage and slaves of israel. Its all fake to rile up americans to support "their team" like it a sport or something.

Pure tribalist nonsense. In reality this country is a declining empire and has been for DECADES.
I think the entire world is declining in different ways.

So would you be okay with the Canadien prime minister deciding to destroy a major historical landmark without any approval from parliament?
The White House has had many changes over the years but this one would up the anti compared with previous ones.

Up here, that would be 24 Sussex Drive, the PM's version of the White House. It was so bad Trudeau Jr. wouldn't move in. It is currently being renovated, with taxpayer dollars, for security and safety reasons. If they had wanted to rebuild, I would be OK with that. If they wanted to add a "ballroom" or something like that for public events using no taxpayer dollars, then I would be fine with that too.

We've already had historical landmarks destroyed and taken away, that happened with John A. Macdonald (Canada's most beloved PM in history) statues being taken down (and more), $10 dollar bill being replaced with a black woman no one knew (in a vertical instead of horizontal position and now you can't even get $10 bills from the bank machines), history being erased by the PM etc. It was so stupid and it was all at taxpayers expense. You had something similar happen with General Lee in the south at the same time but he wasn't George Washington.

If Carney said to tear down a part of Parliament (currently being renovated) and build something else, he couldn't. But then neither could Trump do that with your Capital building.

We already have someone far worse then Trump up here, Carney, which was the brains behind Trudeau Jr. If we could swap, I would. But I don't think either of them would go for it, especially Trump. 🤣

Put your money where your mouth is. Sell your apple stocks and get rid of all of your Apple products. Until then, no one cares.

Same. But nearly every company is doing this, which makes it so difficult to protest! I run a small business and use my Mac and my iPhone to support my family. There is no company you can turn to buy alternatives that doesn’t somehow enrich this regime. But this does make me want to cut back my Apple spend significantly.

We all should be cutting back anyway. When this AI bubble blows, and it will, it’s going to send shockwaves across the globe. I think it will be the worst since the Great Depression, which was the last time we had tariffs. Best to save while you can by not spending money on companies that support fascism. And even if we’re lucky and this fascism wave somehow blows over, this isn’t something that will be soon forgotten. We see you, Apple. We see you forever!

Our capitol sucks compared to other countries. Glad to see them building something nicer.
You're wrong and I'm not even American. Apart from the occasional homeless all around town issues, the breath and depth of galleries on offer, all mostly free, is hard to top to be frank. Been to many capital cities around the world, so I speak from experience. I'm not fan of the man, but the White House needed a space like this instead of the white temporary tent they would erect.
