That’s why we need both sides to come together and come up with ways to help everyday Americans instead of bowing to the whims of one. Tax breaks and funding should come with conditions. Drug companies use gov money to do research and yet they leech off of people to make money hundreds of times their margin. Our taxes should work for us as does the gov instead of working to hide pedo files and furloughing federal workers.
The government can’t do anything efficiently, so it’s impossible for the politicians to help everyday Americans, or any American for that matter. Government is too busy writing blank checks for inefficient work. A simple road project of milling and paving where I live is still going on after 2 weeks… How much extra are we paying the workers and how much extra did we pay over face value for the materials? Probably triple what it would cost you and I individually.

It’s what we have a gov for. Vote the old crows out with a primary and change the country for the better.

I'm sick of Cook bowing down to the Orange monkey. If he showed some backbone, he would get a lot more people on board. The whole world is sick of Trump.
Imagine having that kind of money and still saying yes daddy more please.

That’s actually not why the money for this project is rolling in. CEOs are busy trying to win favorable treatment by this administration. It may be the most obvious case of pay to play that I’ve seen in 50 years as a journalist. Meanwhile, the project very likely exceeds what is allowed without congressional approval.
Nothing tops Hunter’s Biden “art” lol.

If that were true than lower taxes would mean less expensive goods. We can all see that's not true.

Every modern Republican presidency has ended in a major recession. We can't keep trying the same failed tactics. All that they accomplish is increasing the wealth gap to create a new aristocracy.

Pretty soon the argument will be that we have to give rich people whatever they want or else they'll take their resources and move to another country. It's the inevitable result of the MAGA movement.
Let’s give credit where it’s due… Trump had nothing to do with Covid. That’s all on China. Before Covid, the economy was humming along very well.

Bush? Indeed. He basically started a war.

That’s basically the last 25 years of Presidencies.

There's been something stopping me from going ahead and pulling the trigger on the 17 Pro Max. Even though I'm ready for an upgrade. Just a general uneasy feeling whenever I go to click on the "Pay now" button.

I think I figured out what it is.

this **** makes me want to vomit but it’s the system we’re living under (we love crony capitalism, don’t we folks) & unfortunately i think it’s a wise play by tim apple. otherwise the cost of your next [insert apple product] doubles.

I wish Trump was even just 10% of what democrats accuse him. Democracy is a failed experiment, the best countries in the world at this point are monarchies, dictatorships, or some other autocratic system. Its an illusion of choice. Both parties are complete garbage and slaves of israel. Its all fake to rile up americans to support "their team" like it a sport or something.

Pure tribalist nonsense. In reality this country is a declining empire and has been for DECADES.

How do you define “best”?

When I think of “best countries”, I look at a quality if life index…and according to US News & World Report, the top five countries for best quality if life are:

Denmark
Sweden
Switzerland
Norway
Canada

all of which are healthy democracies….

When I think of dictatorships, I think of countries where the people live miserable lives slaving away for whatever the dictator wants.

So again, I ask you, what are these countries that you admire so much and what makes them so good?

Are you arguing against the fact that UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, China, Singapor etc arent among the best countries in the world? Western democracies are falling apart all over and barely functional as a society.

Lets look at a basic list, you tell me which countries in the middle east are doing better:

Monarchies:
  • Saudi Arabia – Absolute monarchy
  • Jordan – Constitutional monarchy
  • Morocco – Constitutional monarchy
  • Kuwait – Constitutional monarchy (Emir)
  • Bahrain – Constitutional monarchy (King)
  • Qatar – Absolute monarchy (Emir)
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Federation of hereditary monarchies
  • Oman – Absolute monarchy (Sultan)
Democracies/Republics:
  • Egypt – Republic
  • Iraq – Federal parliamentary republic
  • Syria – Republic
  • Lebanon – Parliamentary republic
  • Israel – Parliamentary democracy
  • Turkey – Presidential republic
  • Iran – Islamic republic (theocratic elements)
  • Yemen – Republic
Which countries would you rather visit. Look at China vs the USA even they have a functional government, we havent had one since before nixon even.
Yes, Saudi Arabia's treatment of women is a paragon of virtue. Or don't women matter too? Syria wasn't a real republic under Assad. Russia's not on your list, but it might as well be given that essentially a dictator (or "authoritarian" or "autocrat" if you prefer) runs it. It's also technically a democratic republic, but that's in name only. Nations can call themselves republics, or whatever else they want, while not actually being one. A system that's dependent on a benevolent king, queen, or dictator is too often a recipe for disaster.

You also leave off your lists all the successful, highly desirable democratic republics that many people want to immigrate to. The bottom line is that the stated structure of a government is no guarantee of great success, but real democratic republics do the best overall, and for longer, and more consistently, than dictatorships and monarchies.

Strange how some people can understand that COVID affected the economy when looking at 45. But can't understand that it also affected inflation under Biden.

Bush? Indeed. He basically started a war.

Bush I. Ended in recession.
Bush II. Ended in recession.
45. Ended in recession.

At some point, you've got to try a different strategy.
