Apple Drops Prices of 4K and 5K LG Displays by 25 Percent

The bottom bezel needs to be the same size as the top bezel. The uneven-ness makes that LG monitor trip my OCD.
Well, they're not exactly beautiful, are they?
LG sure knows how to put the 'GL' in Ugly with this monitor.
So bad that they've received more online orders for it than any previous MacBook Pro ever.
Prices stay as they were: people moan about accessories being too expensive, so they can't use any legacy equipment with their new rMBP.

But I thought demand was so high... Glad Apple are acknowledging their strategy failed. Better late than never.
I think I've heard that there are video sources other than iPhone. Don't quote me on that though.
I love the new MBP and going all USB-C as that's the port of the future (for the next couple decades at least, ala USB-A). The only issue I had was the pricing, and Apple has apparently heard the complaints in that regard and dropped them for all the accessories and monitors now. Just wish there's a US-C or TB3 dock that offered 85W charging for a 15". If one isn't released in the next month, then I'll go with this 27" 5k. Though I'll have to buy a USB-C to ethernet and a USB-C to USB-A (not needed, but just in case) adapters.
Maybe so you're able to display your videos at full resolution AND still have FCP controls viewable on the display? Wasn't that what was touted when the 5K iMacs were introduced?

I don't believe that for a second. Actions speak louder than words and their actions reflect those where the product is not moving how they thought it would.
I'm excited and happy about the price drop, but being an Apple person, I don't usually buy things in such an ugly enclosure. What to do?

It's a felony for Apple execs to lie about sales numbers. That's a pretty intense accusation.

No, they said "better online sales".
Haven't previous Apple laptops been pretty much available at the time of announcement ( a general question) These new machines weren't available for another two weeks or so. So - only way you can buy is online, not in a brick and mortar store.
If you could buy these new machines in store - even if there was a 5 day delay between announcement and availability, I expect the online sales would be much less.
Apple don't have to be lying about overall sales figures.. just spinning the truth.
edit: no sales figures have been released and so Apple statement is rather vague.

Sounds good. If this happens, I'm in for a 15" model.
If the monitor is so "hideous" just look at what is being displayed on the screen. Don't look at the monitor itself.
