They do something they don't have to do because they are tired of hearing all the crying and whining and yet you're still not satisfied. Just buy something else

If you 'think' (and I use that term loosely) that Apple have done something in the way of a favour because of being tired of 'crying and whining', well then maybe think again, you know just in case you've overlooked the huge amount of negative reviewer feedback based on the need for dongles in the first place

But on reflection perhaps you're right, maybe I should pop back on my special apple rose tinted glasses and get on board with dongle fever.

I'm sure dongles will eventually come in to fashion, maybe Apple will sell me a cool looking dongle utility belt?

If USB-C is the future, why Apple did not deliver the iPhone 7 with a USB-C cable?

Furthermore…. what hardware is using USB-C now… ZERO… only the new Apple (LG) displays…
Hey… but you have 4 of them…

How can they be so lame to remove such a smart thing as the Mag-safe..??

I think anyone who owns an iPhone or iPad and purchases the new MBP should be given a usbc to lightning cable for free, for each device. That's the least apple could do.
Are they going to offer new iPhone/iPad purchases the option to choose a usbc to lightning cable?
Is there even a usbc iPhone/iPad wall charger available?

Does anyone else feel like it's complete bull crap that Apple embraces USB-C on macs, but still forces Lightning port on the phones when the standard for all new phones is in fact, USB-C.
You mean the smartphone market in which the iPhone makes 104% of all profits? No, I don't care about their so-called standards. I'd rather have the possibility for smaller iPads and iPhones. The Lightning connector is absolutely fine, no need for compatibility with exploding Samsung trash.

So if these are special prices until the end of 2016, we should be buying up a few thousand units and reselling in 2017 for a profit. It's like buying Apple stock, but without the risk. :p

you should check the technical aspect of it....if you got time.
Some connectors can disable wi-fi.
Wow, please someone with more knowledge than I tell something is wrong with this review. I'm amazed if this is correct how anyone can defend Apple and what appears to be a subpar pro machine they produced and charged a higher price for and still have the nerve to defend such crap. Truely amazing.

Smart move. A smarter move would have been to announce this during the keynote. They probably would have gotten a lot of great press from it if they positioned it right. #wastedopportunity

But clearly they are "listening" to the complaints.

Well now Phil has his "record breaking" online orders, Apple may have woken up to it`s customers needs to some extents

Only way to exert change with Apple is to vote with your wallet, as it`s the only thing Apple understands from it`s customers in 2016.

Why is it important? Why is it important to have plugs that are used by devices made for that plug???? Ummmm have a wild guess?
Because there's still going to be some devices out in the wild that aren't using a USB-C connector we need to have a dedicated port on the laptop for it? Ok, fine. So where does it stop? How about a VGA port? A DVI port? Even a Serial port? There's still stuff out there that uses those plugs. What's your criteria?

Since it's still a USB port that Apple is using it's very simple to buy a tiny adapter or cable that costs a few bucks, throw it in your bag or case and not worry about it while things transition to USB-C. This sounds like an infinitely better idea to me than saddling a device I'm going to be using for the next 4-5+ years with ports that are going just going to become increasingly obsolete.

This same **** had to happen for us to get to where USB-A is now. It's part of the process of progressing technology to a new and better technology. In fact it was worse back then because this time at least USB-A to USB-C is still the same base protocol. If the worst part about this whole thing is that I need to buy a few $5 cables for most of my devices in the meantime and in return I get 4 incredibly powerful USB-C ports then I'd say I'm pretty damn fortunate in the grand scheme of things.

I just contacted Apple via chat and the refunded me the difference on all of my recently purchased adapters. Small consolation my wallet is heavily bleeding still.

I wish people would just shut the hell up about the damn adapters. Go buy a damn Surface if you think it's so bad. Go away. Please shut the hell up.
We don't want to go away. We believe in and love using macs and it is confounding why they are making it more challenging to use this new and possibly great computer that we all wanted to buy but are now disappointed by at their baffling decisions and outright greedy solutions trying to fool us into thinking we're getting a bargain on crap that we shouldn't have to be buying.

Cool. Cut the price of the new MacBook Pro and we'll talk...

Frankly that will come if people vote with their wallets; technology over time gets cheaper. Apple capitalises on this by "taxing" it`s customers ever more. Apple is entitled to a fair margin, however what it charges is often far from being fair to it`s customers especially Apple`s enforced upgrades...

Sorry, but if your not using wireless by now, i have no sympathy for you. DO you also wash your dishes by hand instead of using a device called a dishwasher?? LOL :p
LAN is tremendously more stable and as long as you don't move around it's a much better option.

You can set up both after all, because LAN is zero-setup. Cable goes in, you're online.
Cable goes out, offline. SIMPLE. Oh and yes, you're still online if WiFi is set up.
Chances are you won't even notice with normal browsing and playing videos that you pulled the plug. (similar to your phone switching from WiFi to cellular as you walk or drive away)
