If they are getting drop shipments, and that means they don't know how many or when, how would they know there will be less than 20 6+ and will need to pull from inventory to make the display?
This!

Of course, but it's not called MacSPECULATION.com is it? People are losing touch with reality, in all seriousness.
The only reason I come to this site around this launch time is for updates on peoples real life shipments, and order info. Other than that, some of these posts are not only way off topic, but way out of touch.
No offense guys, but if you all believed what this guy said....lol. Maybe, somebody already stated this, I did not want to read through all posts, but I will give you all some info here that is for real. Apple retail employees never know how many units of what they are getting in until the day of. Phones are brought in in large crates and not opened yet. Further more, there is no way that one, store knows from another store how many units they will have. And lastly, Apple stores often get, deliveries even the day of phone release. They often have in the past. I have had stores run out of stock in the, AM and then have more stock to sell later the same day. If stock of the 6+ was that poor, Apple would have delayed the release some. They did this back with the iPhone 4 white version due to production problems at the time with the coloring.

Like they did with the gold 5S?
Smh.
Back in 2007, for the OG launch, they received bunches of them that day. So I would suspect today will be a big day. I'd be surprised if each store didn't have 500.
Back in 2013, for the 5S launch, they only had like 50 Silver & Gold iPhones per store MAX. So I would suspect today will be quite similar. I'd be surprised if each store did have 500 units.
Wouldn't it be safe to say that if you are the 50th or lower in line you could get a 6+ ?
well that was a color the 6+ is a seperate phone if they cant have that many phones they would have just held the relase to build up supply.
Yea, I'll come back to this post tomorrow and just completely laugh. 500? If that is true, I'm guessing most will be iPhone 6s and not the pluses.
My store had 1 gold and 10 silvers in Valencia which I'll be honest is a small store. The Santa Barbara had 1 gold and 1 silver. Mark Gurman tweeted "is the plus the new 5s?" If he has any insight on inventory.......we could be looking at 2-5 per store.
i think if the shipment is decent 10-20 per store will be realistic. 50 pluses.....not happening.
Will you be lining up? I'm hoping to land a TMobile 64gb plus at this point i dont care what color or capacity (Just not a 16GB) LOL
There will be tons of 6's you guys think though correct?
I don't think it'll be a problem getting a 6. 6+ is going to be the tough one this year.

FWIW, a friend who works at T-Mobile just told me that all that her store got was space grey. No gold, no silver, no 6 Pluses, PERIOD. I know the thread's about Apple stores, but I figured I'd pass it on.

FYI 2013 5S launch, Apple Tyson's Corner (1st apple retail store) only got 11 Gold 5S. We were roughly #25 in line, and I had to buy a scalper's ticket to get a Gold 64gb. This year 6+ has production yield issues with the larger screens meeting Apple specs, so 20 or less alottment/store seems realistic.
I'm lined up already. I'm number one at my store and even in this position I'm expecting anything. It's PURE gamble. I'm in line for a 128GB ATT in any color. I hope they have a 128 GB for ATT here but would i be surprised if they didn't?

Color Vs actual phone model. Different thing. I am not saying that the supply won't be constrained. On the contrary, I am sure it will. I am just saying that there is no way this guy could have known how many his store will have let alone other stores. The fact that the thread is now gone makes something smell fishy too. Will they have thousands on hand of the 6+, I doubt it, but more than 20, yes. And I got, a gold 32 GB on day one too for the wife. ;-)
Also, 416 Apple stores worldwide. Only 20 per store? Apple production of 6+ is, around 140,000 per week. Why only 20 per store at their flagship stores?
And this thread is about a rumor purportedly posted by an Apple store employee.
Combine that with previous experience during iPhone launches and things add up.
You don't get it...nevermind.
