I used to play a good amount of games on iOS, but since I got a Nintendo Switch about a year ago, I don’t think I’ve even played one. The lack of physical controls on iOS (other than touching the screen of course) is such a huge constraint. Remember when Apple made Apple TV developers implement their game using the ATV remote? How did that work out?

I think Apple is going to have a tough time making this work but I hope I’m wrong.

I only want to know one thing: Where the heck is Catalina Dev Beta 6? It's over 2 weeks now. Is this what they're working on instead? :p

Reactions: Never mind
Go watch the keynote again.

Exactly. It’s like people not only didn’t read the article, but never watched the keynote either. They showed several game previews and they aren’t the typical mobile games people are used to. They even explicitly mentioned bringing console glass gaming to Apple Arcade.

People also seem to forget Apple added support for PlayStation and Xbox controllers in iOS 13. Clearly they’re laying the groundwork for Apple Arcade.

All we need now is an A13X powered Apple TV. ;)

So they revealed this in March but it's still not here. Five months ago. Meh. Sounds like it'll flop to me.

Uh, Apple specifically stated back at the March announcement that it’s coming in Fall of 2019. Soooooo you’re upset that Apple is sticking to its release schedule? Letting staff beta test Arcade right now falls perfectly in line with a release this Fall. Just like they said.

Anything but the **** that Apple's peddling on this "service"

Ao you’ve used it then? Please do provide us with your in-depth review.

Call me when this thing gets aaa titles. Apple has never been serious about gaming. If they were they wouldn't gimp their computers

Not as silly as complaining about something that hasn’t shipped BEFORE its release date.
You're joking, right? In Steve's time Apple did not pre-announce because they could KEEP secrets. They have to pre-announce because Tim can't keep a lid on things. Apple under Cook has just been a total failure and this Arcade thing will be the next to be buried in the graveyard.

It's Apple. Apple has no history of gaming and the titles they did show look nothing more than ios ports. End of story.

Thank you for saving me the time of waiting to see how Arcade turns out, since your word is apparently “final” on anything Apple.

You have any stock tips for me? With such a deep understanding of Apple you could make me a lot of money (or make yourself a lot of money) with your expert knowledge.

Why is Apple so far behind and slow on everything. Really this was announced 6 months back and they are still testing it? I am beginning to believe that complacency has creeped in Apple and sooner or later their fate will be like Nokia or Blackberry or other failed systems if they dont pick up the pace.

I’ll ask you again. Have you used Apple Arcade or tried any of the games? If not your opinion counts for squat. Then again, you think Apple/Cook is a failure so that tells me all I need to know before considering the value of anything you say.

I’ve been a gamer all my life but lately have no energy or will to play any of the high-profile games and my PS4 pro is laying dormant. I think the quirkiness of a whole bunch of indie games available in all Apple devices could be a cure. Can’t wait to try this.
The Only problem is Apple is taking so long, i have almost lost patience, they announced this 6 months ago.
