Ugh, but it says “2020” on it. Who wants to be reminded?

Funny the richest company in the world don’t give any sort of monetary incentive to be healthy. My old job would pay out about $500 for completing a number of challenges, with the idea being that healthier employees equals lower insurance premiums we both have to pay out. Seemed to work and everyone saved money. Maybe there are enough health nuts out there in Cali that they don’t have to worry about it?

So they can get a higher discount. It's easy if you think.

What a dumb exaggeration. You compare a lousy t-shirt to a gold Porsche? I like t-shirts but this one looks very cheap. Why you're so triggered?

Yeah and you just prove that.
You may think it’s lousy, but tens of thousands of employees around the world joined into teams and did something together or an entire month.

An entire month of encouragement. A month of camaraderie between employees. And yes, the reward is a lousy T-shirt. So what? Do you know the types of benefits Apple employees get? Between Wellness ? Medical? Gym reimbursements?

cheap or not, this is what they got.

Are you high? I’m saying this corporate nonsense is bs and an insult from a 2 ****ing trillion dollar company. That’s my participation. Hbu?
I don’t care if Apple gives them t-shirts, gift cards or nothing at all. Apple doesn’t owe them this kind of reward. It was a nice gesture on Apple’s part. If this was a smaller company, I would say the same thing.

They already get a very nice discount at the Apple Store.

Wow, nothing but complaints from people here. Did your own workplace give you gold Porsche for working out a little bit? What kinda amazing rewards have you been compensated with for doing some very basic things for a month?

Yeah. Because those are the only two options. A Porsche or a t-shirt.

It's a pathetic gesture made in the spirit of cheapness.

I did a great job on-site this year with the company gear I bought. The company rewarded me with a new hi-vis vest with the company logo on it! Heck yeah!

Anyone can buy a gold Porsche, this is exclusive. Plus as far as t-shirts go, this actually looks pretty Good. Haters will be haters.

The fact that an employer does something is a good thing. It doesn’t actually matter what that is.

Jesus. Who indoctrinated you to be grateful? Employment is a two way street. Your labour, your expertise, for the companies success and your pay packet. Being ‘grateful’ isn’t part of employment. It’s a transaction. Most companies work at paying you about 10% of what you make them. Is that right?

I don’t have a job at this time, and the one job I have had in my roughly two decades of existence terminated me because of issues that resulted from struggles with mental health. I also know what it’s like to have absolutely nothing, and what it’s like to receive no validation whatsoever no matter what I do. My point is that a T-shirt is a valuable gift no matter the source, and that what looks to you to be a stamped congratulatory message could very well go on to save someone’s life. But you don’t see that, and that’s OK. To each his, her, or their own.

aw dang.. so that will make it hard/impossible to find. :(
Nope! Just very expensive. They go for $100-150 USD each.

here it is on my ceramic!

whats the chances this scenario played out at one of the senior executive meetings.
In the galaxy brain version....

exec1: I am noticing some of our employees are getting a bit on the heavy side
exec2: You worried they are not exercising enough and might pass out at work
exec1: Yes
exec2: what do suppose we do about it
exec1: How about we set a fitness challenge but don't tell them the real reason we are doing it, they can win a t-shirt
exec2: excellent idea, we get free marketing when the employee wears the t-shirt out in public, your a genius
exec1: that's why i get paid the big bucks
exec3: ok so I’m hearing we need to design a device that can track exercise...

And that’s when the Apple Watch was born 🤯

I see this remark a lot. I think it’s trying to be funny, just like every time it’s said about everother year.

I like 2020. I’ve gotten closer to my family. I spend more time with my pets. I have been buying less and getting used to a more basic lifestyle. I have seen people taking time to better understand public health. People are standing up for others.Sure, some bad things have happened, but bad things always happen.
