I'm not sure what I'm hoping for.

On one hand, I hope that a new (reasonably priced) display comes along with the redesigned Mini so that I can dock my work PC at my desk when I'm working from home. I've also been eying the M1 iMacs, but that still wouldn't solve the docking issue. On the other hand, I've been saving my pennies for whatever the next iMac pro will be, which doesn't seem like its coming soon. I could also just get a 14-inch MBP and call it done. I've almost pulled the trigger several times.

No matter how I look at it, my 2013 iMac is very long in the tooth and I'm getting tired of waiting.
I think you would need to wait for the launch of the larger iMac as the soonest point where you could see a monitor from Apple. That iMac is possible at this event but some rumors say it will be later.

I wrote about this before. They are going to introduce the new smaller MP, that will only be available to sell in June, and WDDC will be all about AR/VR.
This is a fair assessment of how I would predict things to go. I suspect the AR/VR hopefully will demo some new technology and and an announcement of what to expect. I’m more interested in the software development versus the hardware aspect at this point.

Gimme a professional ruby/sage/indigo translucent M4 64-core 35-inch iMac with integrated iPhone, touch-screen, 8 USB 3 and thunderbolt 5 ports, four headphone jacks and Mac OS 8.6, and we'll be close to 'peak performance'.

For a foreign “peek performance” could be a word game as performances at it’s top max speed but just not ready yet, M2?

Forget the hardware, it will be a "sneak peek" of upcoming launches on Apple TV+ ...
Oh good, 3 Tom Hanks movies and some assorted garbage.

Seriously though if the M2 has 8 core M1 Pro performance, there’s going to be lots of upsetti base 14 owners.

“Peek” vs “Peak”.

Why is nobody talking about this?

”Peek” = a glimpse.
”Peak” = top performance.

Sounds more like Apple is going to give us a glimpse into something new. Gee, I wonder what new product line they are working on…

Yeah, I’m just referring to some comments pertaining to Beats Pill release being insensitive to Ukraine.

There’s no correlation and Apple is just continuing to do business.
Didn't see those. What's the issue?

It's not an Apple logo moving quickly. It's an apple logo-shaped tunnel composed of colored bands.

Hey Dan, the guys at Apple can spell, and if the wrote “Peek” I am pretty sure they did’t mean “Peak”.
My guess is the we should expect some announcement on VR.
You‘ve heard it here first, and if it doesn’t happen you’ve heard it here first anyway.

I thought that for most people (read: non-pro users) and for everyday tasks even the base M1 Macs [with 8GB memory and 7-core GPU] were an overkill...

Dayum!

I hadn't realized my inference overrides my eyes and reading comprehension. You're right.
