This'll actually be a potentially expensive year, iPhone or not. We're planning to upgrade the two old series 5 watches, and if there's a new :apple:TV, that'll be on the list, and we also need a new homepod mini for the kitchen. Oh, and I really need to upgrade my 1st gen Airpods Pro. The real tension for me is seeing how many of these will release.

The new phones are fully 3D ("spatial").

The promo image looks like infrared (IR).

The extra camera bump space is for an IR sensor.

IR is used for eye tracking (vision pro, etc.).

Eye tracking is used for 3D.

Liquid glass is made for 3D. Spatial pictures, videos, etc. will be viewed in their full glory.

Apple's C-Suit, opening champagne: Time to announce new AI features we'll never ship! 🥳

(Personally, I'm happier the less AI stuff they cram on my phone, but the stock market has different ideas of course.)

Awe [noun]: a feeling of mixed fear, respect, and wonder.

Alright, Apple, I am all eyes and ears! 😉

They will promise to promise again the promises they have previously promised.

Not sure if anyone has commented on the interactive Apple but I think it confirms that we are going to get some sort of temperature-readout function. The Apple gets hot where you put your finger like heat signature.

The usual term is Awe “Inspiring” (AI)
They reached for a grander superlative.
Finally something cool/hot from Apple Intelligence.
Neat promo.

I don’t know if it’ll be “awe dropping,” but considering Tim Cook’s corporate greed, it probably won’t be “price dropping.”

In 2007, Steve did this solo and live. In this presentation, he not only talked for half an hour about updates and Apple TV, but he also introduced the iPhone and did a bunch of live demos with this product that wasn't even ready to ship.

It was so exciting and fun!

"… and sliide it across [audience applauding, laughing] wanna see it again?"
