Is the little graphic on 9 to 5 Mac anything special, or is it wheeled out for every event?

I have it from a very reliable friend who has a friend that once applied for a job at apple inc. that it means iMac Aug. 7.
Is the little graphic on 9 to 5 Mac anything special, or is it wheeled out for every event?

Will The Supposed New iMac Come Out In The U.K The Same Time As The U.S?
No, not a chance. Steve said Apple would move to LED displays when it's practical. It's not yet.anyone think there's any chance the new iMacs that will be unveiled on tuesday morning will have LED displays?
in may, as part of the new, greenerannouncement, steve promised LED displays in all macs as soon as the manufacturers could get their collective acts together and get them made. and i seem to remember he said the plan is to get them into all
displays within a year, which would definitely seem to include iMacs. the 15" MBPs obviously already have them and, supposedly, the 17" MBPs are due for them soon. (i've heard this directly from an excellent source.)
anyone think there's any chance the new iMacs that will be unveiled on tuesday morning will have LED displays? or is it just too soon to have them made for 20" and 24" displays?
So? Macbooks have almost a 0% chance of being replaced.
I disagree. They have yet to get the backlit screens and next Tuesday it will be 3 weeks and 1 day since Intel started shipping the Core 2 Extreme X7800.
Well, I call shenanigans!
Seriously, the macbooks were updated little more than 2 months ago and the Pros as well. Unless Apple is stopping it's profit strategy of selling outdated hardware for current hardware prices (by not updating the hardware frequently), I think there is no way they will update them with LEDs. They cost too much...

2-3 weeks is about what it should take for shipped chips to show up on latest models. This fits perfectly within the Aug. 7th event. It'd be another opportunity for MBPs to stay updated and competitive, processor-wise.
The LED update on the 17-inch MBPs does indeed look much less likely to happen.
I am wondering if there is any chance Leopard is ready for release on Tues? I think they just seeded a new beta version, so it seems highly unlikely, no?
Or is Apple likely to give coupons out for free Leopard to new iMac purchasers?
Or is Apple unlikely to give anything?

15" MBP are showing as 7-10 business day lead times now... is that a sign for an upgrade on the 7th?
DJ
it could, but i really don't think so. they were recently updated. but you never know
It's a sign that LED displays are in short supply.
I am starting to think the iMacs (20 and 24") and going to simply get the Santa Rosa Chipset now (to match the Macbook Pros's Specs) and Apple will make them the entry level Macs... if they finally release a new Mid level tower or "Cube" system with a Quad-Core chipset and better Graphics cards...either way...I am buying a Mac on Tuesday...
NO - they get the computer they bought. Why do people think that Apple (or any other company) will intrinsically "give up" the sale they made in order to swap a customer's machine for a newer model!? If Mr. Johnson bought an iMac on Monday, and new iMacs ship Tuesday, he was a day early. He should have waited. He got the machine he paid for. Apple's a business, and part of making a profit is selling model X all the way up to the DAY of model Y's release. Makes no economical sense to do otherwise. What happens to people who purchase an iMac this weekend, or on Monday?
Does Apple let them return them for a new iMac, no charge?
