Yeah but if it's the 9th, why do a mac release a week before the iPod/Mac deal (back to school) ends.
I don't think they want a huge bunch of returns, unless they think for some reason, students are still buying "for" school.
My friend high up in a Apple store said some updates for the iphone were coming on the 9th

Maybe it is the (RED) version of the iPhone.
I guess there is nothing new for the iPhone users
I may be wrong, but didn't Apple take returns of the original iPhone after the announcement of the iPhone 3G?
Exactly, let's see, back to school PROMO NOT ended yet = NO NEW MACBOOKS.
I was going to let the stupidity of that statement slide until I saw the caps. Just last year, Apple introduced the Santa Rosa MacBook Pro and the new iMacs during the Back 2 School promotion.
You are wrong. Think next time before capitalizing words so everyone can see them.
I don't think we'll see anything today. Generally by this time or so there are some last-minute hints of any new product, even for minor Mac updates. The lack of such hints tells me that either the update is so minor it went under the radar, or there is no update (much more likely).iMacmatician, what is your prediction on what is to happen tomorrow? Do you think any thing is going to happen at all? I would like to see your opinion.
They can make, and have made before, those iPods ineligible for the promotion. It seems that there is a problem with the Sept. 9 date for iPod/MacBook updates. Isn't it true that Apple's Back To School offer runs until Sept. 15? Apple says that if you, as a student, buy a Mac between now and Sept. 15 you can get a free iPod with your purchase. Thus, how can Apple introduce new iPods just a week before this offer ends?
Ask those people who still seem to think the MacBook won't go aluminum and the MacBook Pro won't be redesigned until 2009.Ok, why is every one thinking the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros would be released in October or November?
I am still 99% sure it is September.
It does not make much sense for October or November.
What about stores currently running out of MB/MBP and the rumor saying that Apple suggested shops to load up their stock for august? If the new notebooks will arrive in oct/nov, does this meen MB/MBP will be out of stock and hard to get?
Maybe it is the (RED) version of the iPhone.
It's possible, since the iPhone was out for quite a while before the release of the iPhone 3G. Also, the iMac G4 was out for the better part of the summer and back-to-school season before the release of the iMac G5 in August 2004.What about stores currently running out of MB/MBP and the rumor saying that Apple suggested shops to load up their stock for august? Snow Leopard is slated for around June 2009.September is going to be a huge month for Apple. Hopefully this will build up for a great Macworld with computer updates and the release of Snow Leopard.
Whaddayatalk? Steve has plenty of the S.O.H.Coming soon: Steve Jobs 2.0, this time they've added a sense of humor.
Actually, if you go back and look through photos, the latest look for Steve was probably most noticible for the reason that he was completely clean-shaven. Steve just doesn't do a clean face and has sported the scrub/full beard for a very long time (back when he was hiding the pudge in '01 when he was annoucing iPod 1.0).I never noticed how much Steve Jobs looked different although I do hope he stays well enough health wise for himself if not for Apple.
