After watching the event, I was leaning towards skipping the 15PM and instead upgrading my 12PM to a 14PM at hopefully a discounted price, but have noticed 14PM is not in the Apple Store anymore.
They always remove the older pro models from their website and only keep the older basic line up, if you want an older pro model you would need to go through your carrier or Apple Store physically.

Does everybody just pay for extra iCloud storage?

It's great they keep increasing the size of the storage on the phones but then I need to increase the size/cost of my cloud backup.

The continuous revenue stream model is just unsustainable for consumers.

Ok, honest question. I have the 13 Pro Max...night shots are ok, far better than my previous iPhones. Video in dark, semi dark settings are still..eh, so so. Now did iPhone 14 Pro Max camera really improve on camera settings night shots and esp. video??

I would really love to see real world night video captured on the 15 pro Max...I'll (we'll) have to wait until Tues, Wed. next week I guess when the embargo is lifted.

Yea, knowing Apple they just wanted to call it something else, but where are the night mode improvements? Astro mode? Not everybody spends all day shooting models in a studio!

I think I’ll get a Pixel 8 pro just for the Astro mode.
They made mention about an improvement to night mode photography, but it was pretty quick and I really didn’t catch it. But I too would love to see some thing centered on Astro photography. It’s kind of disappointing that they haven’t done that yet.

It is a good on the go camera. I admit I used it for the FIRST time downtown Philly back in April. Not bad, all RAW images, 4K video...ran the battery down to 10% in 4, 4 1/2 hours.

BUT...I just have to go with my old, but trusty Canon 5D, tripod 99.9999% of the time
No, 100% with RAW as a quick draw camera. But that professional planned shoot they were playing at there? Negative. I'm not benching my 5D for a phone regardless of how much they want to hype the new sensors.

So the EU will be happy. Wonder what they’ll whine about now?
They'll probably now focus on the App Store. We should thank the EU as they were no doubt instrumental in making Apple switch to USB now.

Can't wait to immediately put one of these in a case.
I probably shouldn't say this as I'm a bit cartooned out, but Apple could help reduce more carbon if phones were genuinely durable enough not to require cases or screen protectors.

Spatial videos...viewable next year with your Vision Pro
If you live in the US. The rest of the world isn't getting Vision Pro (not initially anyway).

So Apple paywalls the Mute function. Is charging for photo features that could have been a software update, and are currently in panic mode about declining iPhone sales. Thus the result of the same prices as last year, and the 90% plus trade in value of older models for the newer ones just announced.

That was what was revealed during the event.

how big is an average 12mp picture currently on the 14 series? So I can guess if I actually need the 256 or 128 is enough

Yea google has ran away with it, surprised Apple has ignored it for years and still once again nothing in that area. Astro photography seems as popular as ever, I’ve taken pics with gcam ported to my Samsung that look straight out of a DSLR/SLR with no editing even needed. Truly amazing images considering it’s a midrange 3 year old cell phone!! Just seems like Apple phones in the camera improvements every year, like nobody in Cupertino is a photography enthusiast. These small changes will not be competitive with the Pixel and the crazy sheet the Chinese phones are doing.
