The smartphone as a category reached the "good enough" category years ago, which is a serious threat to the whole industry. In fact, why would a 13 user feel the need to buy a 16? Honestly? They have nothing to improve anymore, which is why one feels that they are magnifying unnecessary nonsense with the power of marketing to maintain the feeling that something important has been added. And it's getting harder and harder. But I don't blame them. Smartphones have reached their limit...
No real reason for me to upgradewhat the hell was with the AirPods Max, just new colours and USB-C after 5 years!!
after checking the website, none aside from sizeany features exclusive to the pro max this year?
Trading in my 13 Pro for a 16 Pro.
With the iPhone 15 pro max only netting up to $650 from apple that would mean I would still have to come up with 650-700 dollars to upgrade to a 16 pro max model ( not that I plan to upgrade this is just an hypothetical ). That money could be better spent else where or saved for the iPhone 17 pro max/ultra.
I agree, it was hard to watch as an Apple fan. Just a lot of filler and self-congratulating with little substance. A few nice things they should have highlighted in a FAR shorter video, and then referred people to their web site to learn more and let the products speak for themselves.Never in my life have I turned off an Apple presentation midway, until today. The pre-recorded format, packed with marketing jargon and lacking genuine passion, is soulless. I might as well just read a summary afterward. Meh
Low energy while trying really overly hard to make it feel high-energy...Possibly the most low energy presentation ever,
Apple Intelligence is a gamechanger that requires modern iPhones. AI is only going to increase in capability and this too will require you to buy newer iPhones to be able to take advantage of it.
And can I say, thank gosh! Long may physical SIMs remain a thing. More than half the planet isn't close to ready for that change. Not according to their UK website. It states it still has nano SIM.
More like a lost year to me. The year innovation at Apple stood still. This did feel like a stop gap year.
Allison Sheridan and crew run a live Discord chat on Apple event days. They're a friendly bunch. Look her up at https://www.podfeet.com/is there a live chat we can join somewhere?
I never brought the first gen ones, I was hoping we would get at least some better noise cancelling and or more features from the AirPods Pro 2.No real reason for me to upgrade
"Gamechanger," how exactly? Also: everything Apple Intelligence offers has been available on Android phones for a couple years now. Why can 3 year old Pixels do something a base 15 can't if Apple silicon is so much better?Apple Intelligence is a gamechanger that requires modern iPhones. AI is only going to increase in capability and this too will require you to buy newer iPhones to be able to take advantage of it.
What a ridiculous response! We've had basically the same phone for years and you think my response is outlandish? The last two years we've gotten a new button on the side. That's groundbreaking innovation? It's a software race now....there's very little left by way of hardware. So you don’t have any imagination too… or are you one of Apple designers?
