I thought the updates were amazing, jawdropping compared to my 11. So much has happened since the 11 and it wasn't really that long ago. Will order the 16pro, quite exciting escalation in quality, looking forward to taking pics, vids and recording audio, been waiting a long time for these new mics.

Also about people complaining about the airdpods MAX. These headphones are very very good already. If you are into audio, newer is not better, some of my old Sennheisers from 20 years wipe the floor with many new models. The USBC and other small adjustments are tech updates. You don't have to upgrade, what were you expecting?

Will not happen for me until they have the same features of the Ultra and the same battery. I will NEVER go back to the normal watch as it is currently designed.
Series 10 isn’t far off, so unless you’re using the Ultra as a dive computer (I’m not) or something, it’s a tough call. I’ve got an Ultra 2 and looking at “downgrading” to the 46mm. Nicer looking and not as chunky on my smaller wrist. Will miss the battery though!

Fully agree. I honestly am still scratching my head at what people here are expecting. They already sound better than all of Apple's other headphones/earphones. These have been the best wireless headphones I have ever used. A price reduction would have been great sure. But what exactly is the MASSIVE ISSUE that the H2 will solve here?

And for the sorta old. 56. Not going with hearing aids unless I’m mid 60’s. Needed or not. No friends. Family left. No one to hear.
I think this is pretty huge, hearing aids are very expensive, thousands…Apple could disrupt this industry substantially.. old people will want them just because they don’t look like your wearing an aid, there msy be a fight to get the fda to shelve this… we are talking billions

Am I tripping? The S10 doesn’t look any different to my S9…. it’s meant to be slimmer and bigger screen?
Very slightly:

Wife and I have 13, kids have 11, but we are all due for an upgrade. Probably will go for it. Might get me and the wife the Pro version to try out ProMotion, which I've heard is pretty nice. Not sure if it's worth $200. As a photographer, I'm looking forward to the new button. I always use the volume button (and about 25% of the time the lock button by accident...)

I initially read that as 'Wife and I have 13 kids'!!!!

Switching to Android After Years of Loyalty to Apple

I have been an iPhone user since 2007 and an Apple user since 2002. For over two decades, I've trusted Apple to deliver innovative products that are well-designed, reliable, and a joy to use. However, after years of growing frustration, I’ve decided it’s time for a change—I'm making the switch to Android.

There are several reasons for this decision. First and foremost, the quality of Apple products has noticeably declined in recent years. What used to be seamless, reliable experiences are now riddled with software glitches and bugs that make everyday use frustrating. The innovation that once set Apple apart is simply not there anymore—every new release feels like more of the same, with no real groundbreaking features to speak of.

I’ve also grown tired of Apple’s design choices. The oversized devices are cumbersome and don’t fit my needs, and the ever-growing camera bump is not only aesthetically unpleasing but impractical as well. It seems like Apple is focusing on style over substance, and even the thickness of the devices is misleading, with some clever trickery in their design to make them appear thinner than they are.

And let’s not forget Apple’s much-touted "intelligence." Features like Siri and AI-based suggestions are nice to have, but they’re hardly game-changers. These so-called intelligent features aren’t anything that justifies a major upgrade.

For years, I’ve been more and more disappointed, but I stuck with Apple, hoping things would turn around. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, and after countless cycles of overpriced products with diminishing returns, I’ve had enough. I’m moving on to Android, a platform that I believe now offers the quality, innovation, and flexibility that I once valued in Apple.

It's been a long time coming, but it's time to say goodbye.

As much as I would also like an upgrade (I use mine 8-10 hours a day and have been through three of them), what would be a massive improvement with a new generation one? Is there a specific major issue with the current gen that people want fixed? In my opinion, they already sound way better then "the best headphones ever" Airpods Pro 2.

I will probably get a new pair of these, for USB-C and just having two pairs is good with how much I wear them.
Wasn’t there an issue with condensation and the headband wearing out? I saw people online complaining about it when they first came out.

Don’t you think they should have added the H2 chip? The AirPods Pro 2 has it. Do they really sound better than the AirPods Pro 2? I have the Pros 2 and they are great, especially the Noise Cancellation.

These Apple Events are far too contrived and nauseating for me these days but I did do a search for the term, 'Sequoia', on the blog page, with nothing really coming up.
Was it not mentioned at lot?
The event wasn't about Macs.

Yeah, and my 15 year old tube tv outmatches any oled too 🤪

I thought they were quite amazing too since the invention of the wheel. I mean from the octagonal wheel to the iPhone 16 Pro max and the unparalleled celebration of colour. How far have we come. ;-)

I'm a bit baffled as to how the new shutter button w/ capacitive touch is going to work with a case. Seems like it isn't?

What would you like to see? Please list a dozen or so truly exciting and significant upgrades.
Features that Samsung and Pixel have had for a bit...

45w charging.
A sandbox to run apps or a profile to separate work and personal data.
Option to make iOS less restricted to fully utilize features on externals like Garmin watches, fitness trackers, etc.
Reverse wireless charging.
App multitasking / allow things to truly run in the background.
System wide equalizer with personal adjustments.
Ability to record a video without pausing audio of whatever was playing before.
Set different ringtones for each esim to know which one is ringing.
Non reflective screen.

I could go on.

Jawdropping? Really?

Do you keep up with any other tech news outside of Apple?

I wish I wasn't jaded lol
