Time for Tim to leave, it’s criminal no black iPhone, for the first time ever I actually don’t want the new one. 1000nits max brightness is shocking the 3000 is locked to auto brightness only outside, why can ever other phone go brighter than the iPhone using normally max brightness

I'm surprised they didn't neuter the Air more. Basically the Pro only has this more than it:

• 6.9" vs 6.5"
• 6-core GPU vs 5-core
• More video playback time
• More cameras (duh), the 8x optical is nice
• Macro

If you like the best Cameras then of course an obvious choice but I'm still surprised that they gave the air that much tbh.
Big winner is the regular 17 for $300 less.

One low key bummer is the Air also doesn't have 0.5x optical zoom, which I use a lot.

No disrespect to you old chap but perhaps they used your ass rather than courage and innovation. How can they stand there and spew out all that cr*p? They must know that it was mediocre at best or are they so out of touch with reality that they cant? incidentally when they tested the iPhone air do you think they got someone really hefty to sit on it in overtight jeggings with the phone half out of their pocket on a rough stone part bench with some keys in the same pocket. I will wager they didn't

Are there a lot of real life Apple customers not using the Internet much in 2025?

Users on here are apple hardest critics but once products are getting released, then the I received -- posts start flooding in.

They always b*tch and complain but buy in the end. Just wanted to remind people of that. Don't get swayed by all the negativity always in these release thread.

Perhaps true of some or many -- but not me!

I've bought exceptionally little Apple kit in the last many years.

Airpods, iPhone 13 Mini and Mac Mini M4 is about it... iPad Mini 5 also actually.

Only the Mini was even bought from Apple and/or at or near MSRP.

I buy preowned whenever I can to let someone else eat the depreciation / huge markups

thought it was 24mp front camera
So did I, and that coupled with the back cameras was going to be the reason I'd upgrade from my 13 Pro Max. As the reality of the lower resolution (but still better than the 12MP on my 13PM) front camera sunk in and the addition of center stage features that I don't need came along with it, the excitement for the front camera upgrade tarnished some.

The limited color options just about solidify things for me that I'm not going to Day 1 purchase the 17 Pro Max. Had there been a true black or starlight or gold option (my current 13PM is gold) I'd bite but now I'm thinking I'll just wait.

I'm on an iPhone 14 Pro and its camera bump annoys me more and more. Here's my observations.

iPhone Air looks really nice but it's not 5.6mm thick, is it? I mean, have we - as a society - decided that we're just going to state thickness based on measurements on the parts that suit our lies most? Come on. "Most of its frame is 5.6mm thick, except for the camera wart" would describe it better.

I quite liked the iPhone Pros because I'm a sucker for orange. But seeing what those cameras can do, it almost feels like they are becoming real pro cameras for professional use. I don't need any of this in a smartphone.

I tuned in too late so I missed AirPods and some of the Watch. But I'm not in the market for either of those.

Honest question: they talked about smaller bezels on the Ultra watch, but why does the screen not go all the way to those bezels? Same question for iPhone. There's always this 2mm-ish black border that surrounds the screen.

Off-topic: did we witness an Air version of Tim Apple? I honestly felt like he lost weight and looked 5 years older compared to last time ... which wasn't 5 years ago.

It’s $999. If Apple neutered it more, even Tim Cook would start to feel embarrassed. Most people care about cameras.

The Air is priced too high, IMO.
Try Europe - €1239 for the base model.
That translates to a pre-tax price of €1007, or $1179 USD at current exchange rates
The US pre-tax price is 999, so Europe is paying 18% more than the US for the same phone (pre sales tax price)

And that's before you factor in that the US price includes tariffs that Europeans are not subject to.

We are being GOUGED!

Nope am swapping to something else. The innovation isn't there and I can get a 90-95% plus solution for much less money on the watch side and there are many phones which are as good or nearly as good also for less money. It's not even like their trad in values are sufficiently good to make one buy apple instead anymore. It's a shame. I've been an Apple customer a lung time but they've reached the stage where they're patronising us.

All the rumors were the 17 Pro Max was gonna have a gazillion extra features and the best fone Eva!!! type thing and ...did they even mention it? I watched it live and don't even remember them bringing it up.

People are just never happy and want to complain about EVERYTHING!

You've got that all wrong. It's not a lie - it's a paradox! As for Tim no his head wasn't 5 times the size of the rest of him. If it had been it would have been the air version.

I may buy something… eventually… but it won’t be out of raw carnal desire. It’ll be more like buying a toaster. The last one broke; need another.
