Also, with these September Keynotes I don't ever remember them talking about Apple TV Macbooks, ipads, or anything like that. Those happen at a spring keynote event.
Or possibly in October.

The iPhone event is iPhones, AirPods, watches.

Irrespective of what’s coming, other products wouldn’t be mentioned.

The runtime today is already a bit too long.

How often was Apple Intelligence mentioned today? Seems like not often.
Timmy won’t let them do much work on Apple intelligence. He’s afraid people will see how easily he can be replaced by a chatbot running on a Mac mini.

Users on here are apple hardest critics but once products are getting released, then the I received -- posts start flooding in.

They always b*tch and complain but buy in the end. Just wanted to remind people of that. Don't get swayed by all the negativity always in these release thread.
i'm still on my iPhone 12 Pro and have a Macbook 12" from 2018ish? Only recently jump on the Airpods 4 with ANC from last year. I've been around since the first iPhone. this company doesn't wow me anymore and hasn't done much to bring me to "upgrade" in years. they throw around big words with processors, chips, pros, fusion, ceramic, dynamic and I'm not buying it until there's a good feature. Until then, I will hold off again.

So the most interesting thing shown today was the 'new' iPhone Air MagSafe Battery and then a distant second ... the iPhone Air.

edit: in fact, I was thinking of the iPhone Air as iPhone X .... reborn.

I may buy something… eventually… but it won’t be out of raw carnal desire. It’ll be more like buying a toaster. The last one broke; need another.
Hells bells you buy your phones out of raw carnal desire. I'd love to see that. What does it look like? Do you do it in person in store?

The only thing remotely interesting to me was the app3 translation. And I doubt it will work with my iPhone 15 that Apple just proved I’m keeping for another year. So I won’t be buying anything.

Honestly though...the iPhone 17 seems like a great play for $300 less. And you are losing what? One camera and the "Pro" moniker off the A19 chip? Also thinner than the Pro version.
Yeah I completely agree with you, and since I need a new AW, I will use that difference to spend it on that.

I'm thrilled with all the new products announced today. In fact, I can't wait to see what I do with them. I'll be ordering AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Ultra 3, iPhone 17 Air and maybe an iPhone 17 Pro Max for the full experience.

I ordered 2 sets of APP3 and I’m considering a new 17 Pro. But I don’t like the colors very much..

Still on my 21 MBP and AWU2 first gen…won’t be updating either of them anytime soon. Looking elsewhere at this point since Apple refuses to release something worthwhile and Tim is such an egomaniac he refuses to step down for someone else more innovative

iPhone Air looks really nice but it's not 5.6mm thick, is it? I mean, have we - as a society - decided that we're just going to state thickness based on measurements on the parts that suit our lies most?

5.6mm thick would mean it can pass easily through a 5.65mm slot with no damage.

Perhaps true of some or many -- but not me!

I've bought exceptionally little Apple kit in the last 7-10 years.

Airpods, iPhone 13 Mini and Mac Mini M4 is about it

Only the Mini was even bought from Apple and/or at or near MSRP.

I buy preowned whenever I can to let someone else eat the depreciation / huge markups
I went from an iPhone 6 to a 14 Pro, only because the 6 died. My daily laptop is a 2018 model 15" intel MBP. My iPad Pro 12.9" is the 2nd gen model, so purchased somewhere around 2019 as well.

I recently upgraded 2 +10yr old Apple Cinema Displays, one of which was the non-Thunderbolt version.

I'm not broke, quite the opposite ... I can afford all the new stuff. I just find less and less reason to upgrade things that still work fine. I stopped wearing the Apple Watch because of all the distractions. Must be an age thing. 😉

Honestly, that’s the way it is for the vast majority of people, every year.

People on threads like this are not “normal customers”.

Events like this are only useful if you already need to to replace something, and you’re waiting to see if it’s better to get this year’s model or last years at a discount.

There “everything is awful but I’m upgrading my 16 pro max to a 17 pro max even though Apple is ruined and terrible” is not normal consumer behaviour.

“Hmmm, the SE3 watch is pretty cheap for what you get, and no-one will know it’s not a normal Apple Watch at twice the price - it’ll make a good Christmas present” is normal consumer behaviour.

These days it feels like these keynotes are nothing to get excited about, maybe it's just me. Although the base 17 is a quietly impressive package.

the next  event should be at a natural outdoor site, like that place where the NFL Raiders plays
with the fans dressed like Darth Vader and Mad Max's enemies children combined dress up and howl non stop for four hours.
betcha they won't clap as much!

I wish literally anybody would just make a sorta small (by modern standards) phone again.

I don't need to film Avatar 6 on the go, nor do I need to grind on LLMs on my phone.
I think they've trapped themselves now with iOS26, which is all big and balloony. I use a 13mini – and keep my SE (Gen 1) in reserve: a truly fabulous phone <sigh>. I won't be moving to iOS26 because everything will be squashed and scrolly.

Sure, there are many of us who don't spend their lives staring and scrolling on their phones and just want something functional that slides easily into our pocket or purse. But a small phone is something I can get for the kids, or an aging parent or relative. I think Apple are missing an opportunity for the sake of trying to maintain the illusion that they're not a commodity company now. A commodity company that makes superb products, for sure. I love what I have, but the future is hazy.
