But they have no choice (vs. competition).

people (like me) will still buy 17 iphone (and by the way 16 pro will get a maaaaasive discount, as the only thing better vs. iphone 17 - is probably camera).

Apple is becoming a commodity, sorry folks, but time is running out for the company. They need to innovate (including AI).

I can remember Nokia who were specializing in phones. Things might just happen to apple if phone industry is transformed (where Apple is no longer a leader / beacon).

i may be too pessimistic, but, just take a step back and compare vs. outer world.

Actually the Air models makes more sense than the Pro, and if the battery life doesn't take a huge hit I can see it cannibalizing sales from the Pro as well as be a viable upgrade for the entry 17.

I love it here ,despite the good and bad comments, sometimes an echo chamber is depressing mostly, i like variety.

I feel that Apple didn’t think AppleCare through this time, I have apple care one with three devices and an extra unit, but it only let me buy another new AppleCare plan or a new AppleCare one plan and not really choose to replace my AirPods Pro 2, i had to choose none for the AirPod pods 3 and deal with that headache later

The vapour chamber cooling areas are clearly where the marketing department lurks and they produce precisely that
... vapour!

Hypertension measure (a software thing) and sleep score which every other device i've got produces were the only other real interesting developments and at best they were software only and its taken Apple a year to come up with this???

As to the bastardization of language - the Iphone 17 Air is not paradoxical! It may be many thing but paradoxical it is not.

It wouldn't be difficult for them to compete with Garmin. I'm active in the Garmin community and literally all Apple has to do is release an actual sports watch with MIP or solar tech and many would migrate. Especially after the announcement of the $2k Fenix 8 Pro 51mm

Thank you for clarifying who you were talking about. This Clint Book or whatever his name is (the grey haired CEO), sounds like he uses Apple Watch to exercise and track his workouts using the advanced optical sensor, motion data, and Apple fitness + only Apple can provide.
 
Live translation is coming to AirPods Pro 2 with a firmware update according to Apple’s website. The Pro 3 appears to use the same H2 chip as the AirPods 4 and Pro 2, which is a bit odd given the supposed improvement in ANC.

Overall a bit of a lacklustre event with very little to get excited about. Maybe next year will be better if they finally get around to releasing a foldable iPhone.
 
just a reminder macrumors is like reddit. Internet only and not real life. The sales will do just fine.

People here have been saying that apple is dying for years unless they innovate

I'm surprised they didn't neuter the Air more. Basically the Pro only has this more than it:

• 6.9" vs 6.5"
• 6-core GPU vs 5-core
• More video playback time
• More cameras (duh), the 8x optical is nice
• Macro

If you like the best Cameras then of course an obvious choice but I'm still surprised that they gave the air that much tbh.
