Also, with these September Keynotes I don't ever remember them talking about Apple TV Macbooks, ipads, or anything like that. Those happen at a spring keynote event.

I know I kid a lot about these events anymore, but if you are genuinely excited about the updated Apple gear that is coming out, I'm happy for you. I wish I could feel the same way I used to about it, like when the iPhone X was launched and the years prior.
Yeah, because for how expensive those shots are to film, anyone is going to use a rice grain sized lens on a microdot of a sensor. Other than a few propaganda pieces and film school projects, nobody’s shooting movies on this consumer toy.
My god absolute yawn. If you’re shelling out a million dollars for a CGI animation of how a vapor chamber cooling system works, you clearly are filling time. The end user doesn’t need or want to know how the signal is sent from the chip to the screen, or how the phone regulates its internal temperature.

Yes, they showed 12MP at 8x in the slide. So with quad pixels they "crop zoom" from the 48MP sensor. And they call it "fusion".

Honestly though...the iPhone 17 seems like a great play for $300 less. And you are losing what? One camera and the "Pro" moniker off the A19 chip? Also thinner than the Pro version.
Well I'm still attempting to locate my awe which I think got stuck somewhere in my large intestine. Nothing caused it to drop.
So the flagship Apple Watch Ultra 3 now has the battery life of Google large but by no means Ultra Google Pixel Watch 4 45mm. God help Apple if Google Ultras the Pixel Watch 4 and enhances the battery life.
If I have an Apple Watch and an Iphone and airpods pro 3 I can now have my heart rate measured simultaneously 3 times (are Apple suffering from OCD issues?). Couldn't we have just had lossless hi res codecs instead and better sound quality?
The 8*zoom on the Iphone 17 pro was nice but frankly the only thing that dropped for me was sheer incredulity that they have become so smug that they think this was awe dropping (whatever the heck that means). The vapour chamber cooling areas are clearly where the marketing department lurks and they produce precisely that

Hypertension measure (a software thing) and sleep score which every other device i've got produces were the only other real interesting developments and at best they were software only and its taken Apple a year to come up with this???

that's probably the last time it was a decent release. before that, they were a bit exciting. since the X, it's been a farce.
Exactly. U have everything in regular iphone right now except camera features. Pro iphone's really have less sense now.
And all the "analysts" who predicted a price increase - they were all wrong.

Because its the best material obviously - until they decide its not and need you to buy a new phone.
Underwhelming event, stock is down. No announcements for software or services at all, which was a real surprise. Not even a single accessory. Iterative updates to all the products. If our watch batteries weren't down, we'd have skipped this cycle again.
Just once though, I want Tim to say 'this isn't our best phone ever, that was two years ago, this one sucks a bit compared to it.'

Adding 16:9 was a smooth upgrade, but that 4 just fit in the hand and pocket. Plus it was built like a tank.
