I'm thinking about getting the Mac Mini as a replacement for my Apple 4K TV. Seems Apple did a good update there.

Acording to apple site, cheapper Air will have 7 GPU cores like 2018 ipad pro with the A12X, Pricier Air will have 8 GPU cores, like the 2020 ipad pro with the A12Z. up to 16gb of ram. no other notable diference other than SSD capacity.

Naturally Tim Apple can’t produce the AirTags or new AppleTV and shortchanged us with another short event.

putting away my cc, nothing to buy today

Wow. You can't even customize the 13-inch Pro beyond 16GB of RAM. Is this a step down or is it like iPhone where less RAM is equivalent to more on Android?

Missed this as was commuting, but looking at the coverage here I do like the statement "World's fastest CPU core" did they go into this at all? As that's fairly bold statement considering what the new Ryzen chips can push or is more of a case ours is the fastest in the world at this task?

Pretty underwhelming. I am waiting for a comparison against Ryzen 4800U.
Faster than 98% of laptops sold. How many laptops with a Ryzen 4800U?
Reading the specs, it should be quite competitive with this chip. Especially when you move away from your charger.

So far I have really enjoyed the improvements in Big Sur.
Improvements such as... no seriously, what improvements are you enjoying, the start up chime? 32bit compatibility is gone, as are legacy apps I've been using forever thanks to that. Notifications are more annoying than ever and harder to silence for some reason.
I want to be more positive about it but have been struggling, so if you could list some improvements you've been enjoying I'd love to see them.

I feel the same. You'll always get complaints though after these events from people who were expecting Apple to refresh everything in their entire lineup.
I wouldn't give them that much credit. I would say anyone complaining about this keynote is a paid employee from one of Apple's PC competitors. They are pissed because Apple's show was filled with innovations. I don't see any innovations from any of Apple's competitors. I mean wake me up when Dell creates it's own processor chip that manages battery, security, performance and along with their own OS. Yeah that won't happen.

Also, you're thinking of AMD/Intel Thermal/Power ratio. That's one of the reasons they moved to ARM. Less Thermal/Power issues. And give the size of these things heatsinks would go further than inside a tablet or phone.
