We was expecting a great event with lots (or some) surprise because the lack of leaks, believing Apple was keeping the surprises in the most completely secret but......we had a very disapointing with no surprises event. Are you serious the PC guy was the "one more thing"??

Edit: I'm laptop.lover so Mac mini is not a surprise to me, sorry

Improvements such as... no seriously, what improvements are you enjoying, the start up chime? 32bit compatibility is gone, as are legacy apps I've been using forever thanks to that. Notifications are more annoying than ever and harder to silence for some reason.
I want to be more positive about it but have been struggling, so if you could list some improvements you've been enjoying I'd love to see them.
Well if this was such a bad experience for you Dell's new innovation crap is just a web surf away.

I feel the same. You'll always get complaints though after these events from people who were expecting Apple to refresh everything in their entire lineup.
Same thing EVERY time. And some with outrageous expectations. They clearly haven't followed Mac product releases over the years.

Where's my 20" OLED 5K laptop with 64 GB Ram?

a big +1 on the notifications, especially for reminders. Very 'clicky'

Good: You can do anything on a MacBook Air now. For the same price. Battery life is amazing on these. Your RAM isn't really going to matter with these chips, I don't think some of you get it who are complaining about 16gb of RAM.

Bad: No re-designs. No iMac.

An application requiring 64GB isn’t suddenly going to work with 16GB, the same applies for other values.

Hmm....so, my thoughts
- Definitely seems like the shortest Apple event ever (guessing the timing was so they could do the "buy it today" schpeel)
- Appears their new chips can only address 16GB of memory? (also storage limited to 2TB - not great for the mini)
- All systems limited to 2 USB-C/TB4 ports (ick!) - I'm using 3 of the 4 atm on my MBP
- Why didn't they add the FaceID cameras to the lid? (mind you, they still need to add multiple Face ID profiles for all of us wearing masks....)

Big sur is coming out Nov 12 yet Final Cut Pro and logic pro X didn't receive an update to be be fully compatible with Big Sur, How is this possible?
I saw Final Cut and Logic with new icons on their website just now on the Macbook Pro 13 inch page but wheres the actual update?

The webcam was the #1 feature everyone was waiting for during a M1 annoucement.
For someone that has been living in Zoom and Team meetings and would love to not have to continue to pack a webcam in my travel kit, yeah for me it was up in my top 5 list of desired improvements. I'm sorry, do the PROFESSIONAL wants from someone looking for a PROFESSIONAL-grade laptop not factor in your math?

I have always said my Mac was too slow at Machine Learning to make me productive to my employers.

Unsurprisingly, all of these first wave ARM Macs seem to all be the entry level or everyday Macs. I'm wondering how long it will take for them to actually reach competitiveness with the higher end of the performance spectrum where the 16" MacBook Pro and Mac Pro live. It's also curious that the event noted that the ARM variant has "up to 16 GB" of RAM available, but the current Intel offerings have up to 32 GB on the higher end, I wonder if they will still offer an Intel variant for awhile.
