Apple has almost never released Mac hardware in March....
This proves it’s past time for Apple to do the unexpected. How about showing the world they’re still a good hard- and softwaremaker? All these half baked products with missing focus and über expensive antiques are finally taking its toll. What happens in China to their iPhone business will spread worldwide quickly if they aren’t capable to change course soon.

The company Apple has lost its soul under Cook :(

"One more thing." Once upon a time, the company was known as Apple Computers.
Then it became just plain ol' "Apple."
On 25 March, Tim Apple will announce their new corporate name: "Apple Services."
And nobody cared anymore. (I put an end to your story :D)

I totally agree with you!
It would be a "revolution" just fix those stupid Macbook keyboards, maybe just be humble enough to go back to original ones. But guess what? Apple prefers to endure in this wrong way and giving us laptops that when Apple care expires are impossible to repair and because of that they will have no resale value. Who will be so dumb to buy a current second hand Macbook Pros?
Tim Cook invented the first mono-use disposable laptop, of course, the price tag is stellar anyway.
People who are saying that are excited about next Apple Event maybe have forgottene the meaning of this word. I challenge anyone who says that Tim Cook's event are equal exciting compared to Steve Jobs one! What's next Tim? new watch bands? new subscriptions services?
Wow! I'm wet like a little lady!

We're expecting minor updates for a number of Apple products, including the iPad mini, iPad, AirPods, and iPod touch, and the launch of the AirPower is rumored to be on the horizon.
Haven’t all updates not been minor since 2012? Seriously, how long has it been since the iMac saw a form factor overhaul, MacMini still looking the same but not able to handle the heat of the new processors. Same for laptops. What progress was more than minor with iOS or MacOS throughout the years?

Last year the os upgrades would were focused on stability and under the hood changes they said. But really, can’t they not do both? I hear excuses that people are holding on to their hardware longer... like everybody is upgrading all at once and waiting for the next big upgrade. If the hard- and software isn’t seeing such a neglect, they would’ve seen more traction to the platform across the board.

Who’s going to miss the to be announced streaming services from Apple when it doesn’t get introduced? This fact and the fact that almost everyone is screaming for real hardware improvements for years which Apple for some reason doesn’t fore fill, is for me proof how far the gap has grown between their managers and customers.

they're turning into a junk food company
While charging you with Michelin star prices :(

There is a chance that it would most likely be at October event, less likely earlier if so at September along the iPhones and iPad Pros.
Even when Apple was a tenth the size they’re today I saw more progress in the categories they were in. It’s past time they start to focus on what customers really want again.

Pull the plug on the Mac Pro and Mac business already instead of releasing über priced hardware that aren’t capable and hurting the brand. Have courage and be honest to your customers.

I am shocked that your Apple Watch series 0 is still in your use. Are you still waiting for series 5 or are you planning to get the series 4 soon?

Me too - I simply "need" a new pair, as my set from nearly at launch are starting to not last very long from a full charge.

I feel you, my pair is more than 1 year old. It is showing some difference in battery life as of late. I wonder if they will release gen 2 this year.

Well, it is post PC era lately. I can do most of the things I used to do on my PC with my iPad now.

Do you think they should spin off their Mac department or dissolve it altogether?

It don't think the will make an announcement of any new hardware in this event and they will stay focused on the news and media services.

And in the meantime pulling all the developers away from further development of iOS and MacOS. Because that seems to be the situation with all their products. They’re not capable of simultaneous releases.

Since Apple restricts its services to its own hardware it's a mistake IMO for them to treat them separately.

When Apple loses an iPhone or iPad user they also lose an iCloud/Music/News subscriber.

Apple will know very well when the batteries are expected to degrade. They'll hold off AirPods 2 to make sure as many early adopters as possible buy a second pair of AirPods 1, then release the new ones to maximise double dips.

You'd think they would continue with development of iOS and MacOS as they are part of their major product lines. However, all focus will be on making tv streaming as they have invested a lot of time and money so they can make more money.

I am not in marketing field but getting into tv streaming is tough and also to compete with others such as Netflix, etc. However, I think you're right if Apple restrict these services to their hardware rather have it out in the open. The tv media would have to be extremely interesting for non-Apple user to go and buy their products and then subscribe. The list of stars they have in the lineup doesn't interest me nor would I want to add another streaming service to add to my monthly expense so I would say I won't be a subscriber.

WOW! GEE! Another BIG APPLE EVENT!!! I’m becoming increasingly disappointed with the direction Apple is going. Whizbang “services”, “content”, and accessories , all to get more fun out of your various small Apple products, while computers, which was why Apple started in the first place, which used to be trailbreaking “bestest with the mostest” products and the Gold Standard of performance and design, are no longer the apple of Apple’s eye. Mac users paid a premium because they got a premium product. There’s not a single Mac produced today which lives up to the standards of yore. What attention they have been giving to Macs is all about questionably important, questionably needed, questionably useful design stuff – smaller bezel (WOW), bigger trackpad (WOW), TouchBar (SUPERWOW), a few mm. thinner and a few mg. lighter (can you top this???), Dark Mode (finally I can work!). Macs, even the top models, no longer have cutting-edge, ultra-capable, top-of-the line innards and other components, and shamelessly offer products which are less reliable, and actually seem to have been cheapened and dumbed-down; the lower, “consumer-grade” Macs are even more underwhelming. Keyboard? Missing I/O slots? Bendgate?

I still can’t imagine switching to a Windows PC, and I’ll be getting a new Mac soon, but I already know it won’t be nearly as good as it could be. If Apple only cared.

As a diehard Apple fanboy, I'm hoping they have something up their sleeves to really wow me this year because they haven't done so in quite some time. The AirPods are probably my last favorite Apple release. And yes, I will buy the second gen even if nothing else changes but them being black and having a wireless case. But I'm not buying a new iPhone until they lose the notch and give me Touch ID back. Those notch-less Galaxy screens look beautiful, and Face ID still sucks in comparison to Touch ID. I didn't need an extra level of security at the expense of convenience.

You want to create your own streaming service, that's fine, why not. Everyone else is doing it.

But I expect they will spend tooooo much time talking about it, like that Apple Music event.

No. Apple Music is on Android, iCloud is on Windows as well. We don't know if News will be launched in a open format too.

If it isn’t announced by the end of wwdc then I think that’ll be a serious indicator of where Apple stands on pro users. It was meant to be released last year but that never happened. At this point, if they are having issues with the design of the Mac Pro then they are massively over complicating something really simple.

Let’s face it, the older Mac Pro (not the cylinder one) was a masterpiece of design and surely would be a great starting point for a new design? All pro users want is the ability to upgrade and replace components over time (I’m not a pro so it doesn’t affect me, but it concerns me that pro users are being left in limbo)
There's no lie here. Pro users aren't begging for a head-turning marvel of engineering, they're asking for a heavy duty computer to get their work done with. It can look nice, sure, but for a company with decades if expertise the length of time this is taking is suspect.

Expect more lame services that no one will care about.

Hardware if we are lucky, maybe recycle pathetic old models with internal small upgrades.
I think Cook is too busy with Emojis.

They should have spin off their Mac department years ago. All they’ve done is milking it out since 2012 and alienating their core users. When the iPads were a transparent and natural path to the future I could somewhat understand. But let’s be honest, does it has the power to replace MacOS? iOS offers the same on iPads and iPhones and hasn’t changed much over the years. I understand Apple wants a simple and user friendly solution, but there should be some kind of switch that allows you to go in Poweruser mode for the more demanding.
What’s the use of the suggested power of the A-processor when the options are too limited?

It’s not quite that. The problem is that many of our once beloved news sources have become propaganda outlets. The news journalists do not ask basic questions around the stories they pretend to cover - and a lot of people have noticed! Who what when where why - that’s all GONE. Instead you get opinions and assumptions pushed even when there are obvious doubts and a whole other side of the story that needs to be told but is instead completely ignored.

It’s sad - we now have the ministry of truth telling us this and that “without a doubt” and it just isn’t so.

“Don’t believe what you think” became my new motto several years ago. Try questioning the next story you read and ask why they won’t even pose a simple question opposite to the opinion they are pushing on the “news”.

News is something that should be reported - not preached.

No offense, but I find the “media is bad, biased, etc.” criticism to be almost completely useless. It’s the laziest form of media criticism there is because it relies on a sort of nihilism - everything is biased and propaganda, so nothing really matters. When people say “the media” they are referring to a very large and very multifaceted industry. Are you talking about editorials? Podcasts? TV news? Local coverage?

There are very large organizations working everyday to shed light on real facts and real bias. Politifact is a good example I think. Is there a legitimate left-lean to a lot of news? Sure. But the answer isn’t to throw your hands up, it’s to go find some genuinely good right-leaning sources.

The news also will always depend on interpretation. It has to. That’s how we process the world. We rely on a narrative. Facts without the context are sort of meaningless. I could tell you that two planes hit two skyscrapers in NYC and be factually correct. That information doesn’t really mean a whole lot though without a larger narrative. It’s up to people to develop some basic media literacy.

Rant over.

I think they’ll wait for any hardware announcement to see how well the “showtime” gets publicly received. If there will be a lukewarm receivement (99,9 certainty) a hardware announcement will follow in a matter of weeks as damage control.
