This is probably the event that I least expect to be surprise by something good.
A Netflix competitor service? zzzz
News service? zzzzzz

Sorry for being a downer. Hopefully Apple can surprise me with a great service at great cost to consider it but my feeling is more of the same.

These events are getting worse every year. I will stay with apple but their tech is pretty dull at the mo. And their events are even worse. Snooze fest

Nobody wants services. They want Hardware. They want SE 2, headphone jack comeback, Noise Cancelling Black AirPods, and the return of Magsafe, more ports and better keyboards for their MacBook pros.

We’ll get some funny sketch at the beginning no doubt staring Cook, then a boring long list of A stars balbbing on about how wonderful Apple is and how it’s really worked hard on these Amazon new shows blah blah.. how thanks to Apple they can have such wonderful scripts etc blah blah..

Then it’ll be a long drawn out description of the different pricing structure and what they include.
If we actually get any new TV hardware I’ll frankly be utterly shocked.

All I hope for is Apple better announce this service is in a lot more then Apple devices, a lot more, otherwise they are dead before they start.

Meanwhile I may on Tuesday go to an Apple store, and ogle the iPad Pro’s.. and the Apple Watch.

Same here! I really wanted a new Mac Pro after owning a 2006 and 2009 Mac Pro but the processors and especially the GPUs in them were hot garbage. I can't believe that building your own computer for 1/4th the price would get you a better performing computer than a 'legit' Apple Mac computer.

The Hackintosh has easily been my favourite computer and one that's given me the most use. I've had it for 4 years now and I still don't have any plans to upgrade any time soon OTHER than the GPU (would love a GTX 1070 or something better, but my 980 is still more than adequate).

Just sucks that we are stuck on high Sierra unless we are willing to take a less powerful gpu.

If their streaming tv service is going to resonate with me it needs 2 things.
1. Downloads for offline viewing
2. Support for MacOS. I watch quite a bit on my laptop.

maybe the most boring keynote to date if they have nothing to announce but services. With all of the latest hardware updates, wonder what else could come.

I really hope I’m wrong but this keynote is lining up to be a ******** (time)

Pro users DO use a Hackintosh! Mine runs like a dream given the hardware i built it with. It runs even faster running Windows 10. Anyone interested in my build info, message me.

Rumors have suggested that the credit card that Apple is debuting in partnership with Goldman Sachs will have special features in the Wallet app unavailable to standard credit cards, such as budgeting tools, spending recommendations and limits, and more.
I’m intrigued by “budgeting tools”. I have a great checkbook app on my iphone in which I record every transaction I make, whether credit or cash. With it, I know exactly how much I have and how much I owe in any given moment for each of my accounts, I have a record of every transaction I made in all categories which helps me see my overall spending and helps tremendously come tax return time, and I can compare my records to my account statements to make sure there are no discrepancies. The app is very efficient so it only takes 5 seconds to record each transaction (recurring transactions are automatic), but since more and more of my transactions are via Apple Pay and someday hopefully all of them will be, my dream would be that all Apple Pay transactions would be recorded automatically into my checkbook app. I know that probably can’t happen with a third party app because of security, so it would have to be a native app integrated directly with Apple Pay. Not sure what kind of motivation Apple needs to make such an app, but perhaps this new credit card is it. If so, depending on the card features, I would jump on board.

Headphone jack hasn't fully gone away. The latest iPad Air offering and pretty much all their computer offerings including the latest MacBook Air still have the 3.5 mm jack. Maybe some day they will figure out what direction they really want to go with that jack and make it consistent.

Translation:
Fluff.
Fluff.
Emojis.
Reheated leftovers.

So nothing for professional computer users yet again.
What a surprise.

Meanwhile, my new hackintosh is working like a powerhouse dream.

The enthusiast class of computer users sure have a serious axe to grind with Apple.

Computer companies don't do $300 billion+ in yearly revenue. Apple diverged from solely computers 12 years ago, when Steve Jobs was very much alive.

It was Jobs himself, in 1997, that said that computers weren't the endgame for the company...to search for The Next Big Thing.

It is what it is. I suppose the enthusiast-class detractors gets emotional release venting in Mac forums.

Apple just put aside all the hardware people were expecting and released very minor upgrades. For what? To show us Netflix knock off? Some emojis maybe and some AR footage with a Lego build? Meh... Doesn't even worth watching it.

And the Kool-aid drinkers enjoy bending over for the same dreck year after year.
Also, by "enthusiast class of computer users" you mean actual computer users that require real machines in order to get work done with upgradability and realistic costs, right?

Hah, even iOS devices are going to be relegated to the sidelines like the Mac in favor of the new hotness: boring services revenue. Please Apple, don't become a boring company. Leave that to Elon Musk.

How many new computer related products did they release just this week?

Sorry. This is total nonsense.

Someone is not paying attention at all.
