The Democratic ideology is absolutely and demonstrably totalitarian and anti-democratic. Deny it until you’re blue in the face. Makes no difference to the established facts.

See, I said the thing. Now I’m on top, look at me everyone! I said it, so it’s a fact.

You didn’t do anything. You just feebly mimicked my post by changing a few words. Neither did you nor can you back up your childish edit, so it’s very easy to see that you wasted your time. Congratulations. Now, tell us again how you’re not a partisan, because that was genuinely funny.

And you do? I wonder.

If not fascist, the Trumpist ideology is absolutely and demonstrably totalitarian and anti-democratic. Deny it until you’re blue in the face. Makes no difference to the established facts.
Start with using correct terminology. Otherwise you're just someone who shouldn't be taken seriously.

The trump wing of the gop is mostly made up of old boomers who feel like they have a guy "who fights". There's extremists over there sure but there is always extremists.

Jan 6 wasn't overturning anything. No amount of desk sitting in Pelosi's empty executive would change anything.

It's the utter lack of faith in the strength of the system you have that has this fear of the possibility.

Oh no! Mr. “I’ve declared it, so it must be true for all”

One of my favorite tweets. RIP Norm.

The narcissists require an audience to witness their neurosis. When they find that missing elsewhere e.g. on Mastodon, they'll come right back.

They always come back.

Except that they don’t. Just ask Friendster. Or Facebook. Heck, ask Twitter! They were bleeding members at a drastic rate BEFORE Musk stepped in to alienate the remainder.

And least we forget, Twitter is a TINY platform with members in the low 100s of thousands. They can’t afford to lose members, let alone the massive exodus of advertisers that’s happening right now.

They don’t always come back.

Publicly traded. Not publicly FUNDED.

HUGE and CRITICAL difference.

When they get capital from issue equity shares or sell bonds to the public market, that's public funding.
When they get revenue from subscribers and advertisers to continue operations, that's public funding.

Like, they're not granted direct money by the government from public coffers, sure.

Uh… no. They’re not a publicly funded company. Sorry. You’re grasping at straws. Twitter didn’t censor anyone. It’s a same that you continue to think they did.

Again… I’m don’t like trump. I don’t like very many politicians because they are all hacks. They are all enemies on cspan and buddies behind the closed doors.
Yep, no politician cares about us. They are all in it for themselves, sad how some think some of them are actually good people. They all are just fake.

I have no idea who Greenwald is, but that tweet is undeniably a pretty radical right-wing position.

He's the radical journalist who broke the Edward Snowden story, exposing massive NSA surveillance of US citizens.

Also, he's married to a Brazilian man with whom he raises family. You know, typical right-winger stuff.

We might disagree on politics, but are you going to block half the people here?

Even if we disagree, I’m sure I’d love to hear your feedback on something else that I might actually find insightful or agree with.

Not a fan of blocking
This is what they all do, they want an echo chamber. No opinion other than their own is allowed. They resort to that tactic fast when they can't find a way to win an argument.

Well according to some people he is a radical right wing nut job making him a fascist, racist, xenophobe and whatever other buzzword they can think of.

What does censor have to do with anything? Are you confused or making things up or both?

Do you understand how capital markets work? Where and how companies get the funds for their operations?

We’ll see how long Trump is able to reject it. He’s too narcissistic.

I'm waiting for my favorite comedy show to resume. I'm sure Trump has signed away his life to Truth Social, but ... it's 3am, I've eaten my McDonalds takeout, drinking my Diet Coke, my adderall has kicked in... I seem to be unbanned on Twitter, and oh hey, I've got close to 100 million followers...

Hmmm... Lemme just share a few thoughts.

Let the good times roll!

Same question. What “media” are you referring to? It isn’t a monumental thing. The media spectrum is most certainly not composed exclusively of agencies that are in the business of lying.

Actually, for the most part, yes it is. You've placed "media" in quotes, which is quite apt, a better word would be: propaganda. Do the participants understand what they're doing? I'd say most probably do not, they're useful idiots comprised of individuals who couldn't understand a paper in a peer-reviewed journal if their lives depended on it.

Is this junk science, pseudo-science, random garbage written with an agenda to obtain low-hanging fruit via grants, or is it, ya know, actually science?

Not saying the conservative side is any less insane.

Left: "My body my choice!" on the topic of abortion. Sure, agree 100%.
Right: "My body my choice!" on the topic of being forced to participate in experimental gene therapy from a Pharma co that seems to have become the state and no longer has to bother with clinical trials for molecules with extraordinarily low or non-existent efficacy and a plethora of potential side effects.

Please. Liberal media, conservative media. They’ve all got agendas which means misinformation abounds, like I said in an earlier post.

The "left" and "right" which have been weaponized against one another, to the point where I personally believe the US is divided beyond the point of repair. There is not going to be any grand understanding and coming together of divergent narratives.

It's... not going to end well. National Divorce, Confederacy of States, whatever name or shape it takes, things are breaking and falling apart.

Which is the whole point. Keep fighting over nonsense, focus on the magical picture show, and don't pay attention to what's actually happening with "your" country and planet Earth.

Anyhoo, whenever one of these endless threads kicks off on a site I used to participate in for Apple-focused content, I often wonder how Steve Jobs would fare in the idiocracy that the US has become. He was quite brilliant and I have nothing but respect for his accomplishments, but he was also a grown man who would throw tantrums and cry in public when he didn't get his way, and call an auditorium of his employees "f-----g idiots" when they failed to meet his expectations (MobileMe rollout, followed by the glorious Ping!). Perhaps Elon attended some of Steve's "how to handle your employees" motivational seminars.

Piece, Apocalypse Whenever.

This is a big problem. They have screwed the political spectrum so much they think a conservative democrat like Biden is a radical liberal. Most people voted for Biden because they are just trying to stop the radical right wing minority from taking over the government. Biden is a centrist at best. Same with Hillary. Bernie was the only real liberal to run in many years and even he isn't that far left.
What universe is Biden a conservative in any capacity. The man is a puppet of the far left. Anyone with an IQ >80 can see he is quite cognitively impaired and incoherent.
Fact is if you have a liberal friend/relative they are far more likely to cut you out of their life and make believe you no longer exist if you go against the echo chamber than a conservative person would in reverse. The self proclaimed "tolerant" people are some of the most intolerant people
“We love and accept you…so long as you agree with us!”
Yeah well they also think Elon Musk is far right and he isn't. It is how it goes, you're either 100% with them or you're all the way on the right.
Elon also reinstated Kathie Griffin‘s Twitter account, but those screaming Elon is far right would never admit that.
No it doesn’t. They’ve fired so many people that many of its functions are down including two factor login verification. So your lazy attitude is based on low information.
Works exactly the same, thanks though. 👍
