Don't be envious; besides saying this is genuinely stupid. The people who got to spend that money will happily do so on many great things.
Yea since virtually all media is controlled by right wing billionaires now Twitter sort of the last place independent journalists and all sorts of voices that are ignored by right wing corporate media could get information out. What more would the Saudi’s and other backwards dictatorships want than to suppress something like Twitter?
How many times have we found out about a police murder that we wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Twitter? I can think of so many powerful evil people that would want it to be destroyed. All while childish low-info conservatives think they are being granted “free speech” by allowing all sort of vile racism and holocaust denial back into the platform. Not that it wasn’t there before, it always was, and was ridiculously lenient with those types, and if they had a blue check they were allowed to do almost anything they wanted.
It’s a real world idiocracy being played out in front of us all.

I'm not deactivating my Twitter account just yet. While I think that Elon is a doofus, the platform itself plays an important role in my work life. I use Twitter, not for casual social media, but for connecting to companies, particularly their support departments. Some use it properly, and it makes for a great experience.
The hypocritical virtue signaling on Twitter was at obscene levels. So glad Elon is removing the restrictions on freedom of speech, so the hypocrites can be called out properly now.
Bud, check the date on that article. LOLYou better source that. Because all the legitimate reports suggest that Twitter has been and continues to bleed members at a rapid rate.

The freedom to speak on how much you don't like gays, liberals, transgender folk, non-Christians, black people, Jews.
The freedom to speak towards suppressing the teaching about your hate in schools.
The freedom to speak to your mob/"militia" so they shoot up drag queens, (non-white) children, black churches, gay dance clubs, the Capitol building, and anyone who otherwise calls you out on your hate.
The freedom to complain about A FEW black-washed fictional characters as if your ENTIRE CULTURE is under attack, when your churches, movies, TV shows, and print media has been (and STILL IS) guilty of white-washing, for CENTURIES.
I'm all for freedom of speech.
Because I LOVE to let American terrorists and those complicit let me know who and where they are.
Perhaps if we had Twitter in 1939 more Jews would've escaped the holocaust, just like the Tutsi that heard the Hutu get riled up on the radio and got out early.

No, he’s busy preparing to kill 15,000 political prisoners in his own country. No biggie to the US leftist though. Not like they actually care about anyone or anything besides themselves.
And let’s not talk about all of the Democrat politicians who used Twitter to influence millions of their unhinged and deranged followers to participate in the George Floyd riots that caused billions of dollars in property damages (highest in US history from any riot), destroyed government buildings, burned down businesses and churches, directly led to dozens of innocent people killed, and included an attempted insurrection on May 30, 2020 at the White House injuring at least 60 members of the secret service.
