Nope, sorry, that is simply false and I explained the difference in previous posts. You can read what I wrote, but since I know you won't, I'll explain it again:

1. Ted Cruz was born in Canada. John McCain was born in the Canal Zone. In this case, the debate is over their eligibility, not a lie made up about their birthplaces. Obama was not born in Kenya.
2. Unless you can prove that the questions over Cruz's and McCain's eligibility were due to their race (and there is no evidence that it was), racism is not involved. It is petty and political, but their eligibility was not questioned because they are white. If that were the case, then yes, it would be racist.
3. Birtherism was spawned by the same people who consistently accused Obama of being a Muslim, emphasizing his Arab middle name, and a clear case of "othering". Obama was black, had a "foreign"-sounding name, ergo, he's a foreigner, and a lie was made up about where he was born. The fact that you see the debate over Cruz and McCain as being identical to the racist lies about Obama only reveals the lens through which you see reality (a foggy, scratched lens at that).

Ya, I get it. You just doubled down on how I said you understand the world. When the "same people" (i.e. Trump) call Cruz a birther it's driven by legit debate and when he calls Obama a birther it's because he can't control his racist impulses.

The alternative explanation is that, in politics, everyone smears everyone. Put another way, it seems unbelievable to you that people could smear Obama without being racist. Hey, maybe Shiller is leaving Twitter because deep in his heart he hates South African Canadians?

Nope. Wrong again! 😄

You actually don't understand how I understand the world and that is reflected in your comments. You are putting words in my mouth because I have proven you wrong and you have nothing you can say to answer it. It is a bit reassuring to me that conservative arguments are so facile and easily-dismantled. It means there's actually nothing to them and they're barely even worth responding to.

I never called anything "legit". You said that. But I understand how you need to make me say things in order for you to seem correct. That is the only way you could ever be correct, with a lie. 🤭

Ok, so you think it is driven by illegitimate debate and the other by racism. That's even more ridiculous.

I think both are driven by pettiness and politics, but only one is also driven by racism and that is evidenced by the rhetoric of those who started and continued the birther movement.

I can agree to your first comma. On the racist evidence, let's start this convo up again when Malik Obama leaves twitter.

He's talking about electric cars that emphasise self driving and automation, not just a change of energy source. You have to wait until a car or any compute dependent object is good enough before you decide to upgrade to it, especially when there is a risk to life.

Presently some electric cars are good enough if they require manual driving. Ones that emphasize or promote self driving are far far from the safety level that should be required.

I should not have to say that.
I won't insult your intelligence by claiming that my point somehow eluded you. I'm sure it didn't.

For all of Musk's goofy antics, the guy has done some impressive things. His contributions to the development and acceptance of electric vehicles is high on that list. By comparison, our friend Phil is a bit of a poseur.

Like what Elon is doing with Twitter, or don't (personally, I think the purchase was very ill-advised, but he didn't ask my advice), the notion that Musk is now an irredeemable person whose business must be cancelled because he won't cancel someone who the mob thinks should be cancelled is dangerous rubbish, in my opinion.

According to Gallup, Trump's last job approval rating was 34 percent. Per a recent PBS/Marist poll, 67 percent of independents don't want him to run in 2024. His unfavorability with Americans (53.9 percent) exceeds his favorability by 12.7 percent (FiveThirtyEight updated average). After the poor showing by many of the Trump-backed candidates in the recent election a solid case can be made that he is a rapidly diminishing political force. What could give him a boost? Efforts to suppress his freedom of expression (and that of other individuals, like Musk) that are viewed as unreasonable by independent Americans.

In her book, The Friends of Voltaire, Evelyn Beatrice Hall wrote the following well-known phase as an illustration of Voltaire's philosophy: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Well said.

Yeah Trump is politically toxic, but will most certainly get a boost if the mob tries to silence him. He will sink himself by insulting competent and broadly liked conservatives like DeSantis, who so far has refused to play the pedantic Trump games.

Apple's Phil Schiller, responsible for Apple events and the App Store, has deactivated his Twitter account following recent developments on the platform.

phill-leaves-twitter-2.jpg

Schiller often used his account to promote new Apple products, services, software, and initiatives and interact with customers. As noted on Twitter by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, however, Schiller's account no longer exists. The account had over 200,000 followers and was created in November 2008 according to a web archive of the account dated November 4.

Yesterday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that former President Trump's account would be reinstated on the platform following its suspension in January 2021. In a recent interview, Apple's CEO Tim Cook commented about the future of Twitter and the social media platform's relationship with Apple. During the interview, Cook said he remained hopeful Twitter would uphold its moderation standard under the new leadership.

Is there a bigger d-bag than Phil “can’t innovate my a$$” Schiller? Says that cheezy line then pitches that POS trash can Mac. NO ONE will miss seeing a tweet from Phil

There's no white knighting. I think the opposite is taking place. The left wants to cancel him at all costs. Those of us who could care less are sitting back witnessing a massive social media temper tantrum.

This comment is drenched in jealousy. Whats most amazing is that this guy probably REALLY thinks he's smarter than Elon Musk.
Yeah, I may be. Then again, I might not be. I have never met the man. Given his actions lately, it’s clear he is no business genius. But acting like he’s a super genius is pretty laughable.

What’s wrong with fascist propaganda? It’s stupid and ignorant and easily proven false - so what threat is it to thinking people?

What’s disinformation? Saying the CV19 vaccine might not stop transmission was disinformation in 2021 but is widely believed now.

What’s wrong with lies? We allow lies in every form of media in the world. Why should someone decide what is a lie for us?

BLM brought insane violence across the country. They were never banned.

Free speech is free speech. Let’s promote it on every platform.
What’s wrong with fascist propaganda?! Are you serious?! The problem is the republican base have been so misinformed by fascist propaganda they actually think the liberals are stealing elections and grooming kids for pedos. That fascist propaganda motivated people to storm the capital and attempt an insurrection. Do you want nazis… cause that’s how you get nazis.

It really takes no time for someone to go with the nazi angle. Yeah that "insurrection" really equates to the death of millions of people. It is an insult to every person who has a relative that died in the holocaust when people like you go for the holocaust angle so easily.

Well, if you can’t see the parallels to the nazis before they came to power in the Republican Party of today, then I can’t help you. It’s obvious to anyone who looks at it for half a second. We are on that path. If we aren’t careful, we will end up with fascists taking over.
