Because they forgot how to make Macs.

Nope, nobody in the mothership cares about Macs so the people that could be making Macs either have left or are off making a larger iPads, more colorful watch bands, different colored iPhones, writing car software, etc. Everybody, including engineers, want to be assigned to the most popular projects in the eyes of management. That is where the fame, recognition, and money is.

Waiting for new iMacs, still with revolutiomagical 5400rpm drives
No way. They can't be soldered on, so Apple will instead give you 256GB of Flash storage on the low end iMac. Courage !!

And when they say "larger iPhone SE"... larger storage or physically larger ? Physically larger defeats the purpose of the SE.... so clearly that's what they will do. Apple is now synonymous with "defeats the purpose".
I guess i better get to the store and buy the current one.

If they don't at least tease computers, there's gonna be full scale mutiny. So again... that's what i expect. "Doing more in the Pro Area" = Doing more to make Pros go away even faster.

It is insane they use 5400 rpm for Fusion drives. I guess maybe the increased performance out of the Fusion's SSD makes 7200's not that much of a difference?

Does anyone know if you would see a huge speed increase with 7200 rpm Fusion drives? Or would you get better performance increases from making the SSDs larger capacity?

They will probably need an event to announce that, for the first time ever, they have delivered the biggest breakthrough in hardware and software technology for the iPad, allowing people to completely develop iPhone/iPad applications without any additional hardware.

In addition, it is so intuitive that these apps can be developed by grade school children. They want to get this breakthrough into people hands way before WWDC because the announcements they have planned for WWDC are just out of this world. They expect that half the attendance at this WWDC will be by children under the age of 15 and they have set aside half the auditorium with free tickets. The pipeline is exploding and Tim Cook is going to be here to tell you about it (as long as you can stay awake).

Don't hold it too long; while new hardware unveilings have happened there occasionally in the past, WWDC is mostly software and developer-centered, hence the name.

The last Mac Pro was accounced there, and being ‘Pro’ and not ‘Consumer’ hardware, WWDC is the perfect place to unveil products such as these.

That said, there’s a reason I chose the blue-faced  emoji.

fingers cross for a spec bump in apple tv. \
give me anything please! If for no other reason, to show someone over there is still awake.

Please stop churning out yet more shiny consumption devices and give us something to produce on. Given the AMD tie-up, a new iMac with a top-end Vega GPU, 32GB+ RAM, multiple TB3 ports (without sacrificing network, sd card and other 'legacy' ports) should be the focus (April?). And pay your taxes.

They are possibly waiting to see if they can in fact hold the event in the new Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus or not. If Apple Park as a whole can be ready the first or second week in April for an unveiling, they could make the event a grand opening of sorts for the media in addition to just the Keynote at the new theater.

If it turns out they can't pull it off they will just have the event at one of the usual places...

Will be an iPad-centric event most likely. Possibly the next gen SE to boost phone sales mid-year. Macs, mot likely not, unless the MacBook gets a spec bump? iMac's seem like they would warrant their own event though, but you never know!

New iPads down the line, new iPhone SE, Macbook AND iMacs? That would be a heck of an event to kick-off the new theater, though, wouldn't it?!

Dang, I wish I could find out something solid about the iPhone SE. I'm looking at replacing my 5c with a SE very soon and I'd definitely grab 128GB over 64GB, especially if it's the same price.

Oh well, I guess I can always get one now and swap it out within the return period if necessary.

Or just wait a week or 2 unless your 5C is completely unusable.

Probably no announcement, shift everything back to its usual release slot of September / October.

If it's just a press release, I can foresee new colour for iPhone, price drop/spec update/both on rMB and, um, that's it. If I try to think extremely positive, iMac will remain the same but, indeed, with 256 GB SSD as base storage (thus price drop).

And again no iMac in March. I guess I will run the smtp servers, dns stuff, reverse proxies, and other services, together with the minecraft servers, other game servers, and my virtual box stuff and web development things, alongside adobe premiere pro and full fledged photoshop on their new iMac, and use their pencil. Because it's a real pc now.

Sigh. Well, .. guess ill be ordering that stupid windows box tonight instead of waiting any longer. I feel gutted, it's the last thing i want, but i need results. And their laptop is too expensive, and has dongles everywhere, and no 5k monitor, unless i spend another $1000, and it's just not a workstation.

sigh.
