I had trouble shopping on amazon today, so I wonder if this issue is AWS-related. As I recall, iCloud is partially hosted on AWS.

Apple today is experiencing problems with a host of iCloud-related services, as outlined on the company's system status page. Affected services include all of the basic iCloud services, as well as services like Find My Friends, Find My iPhone, Game Center, Photos, and Screen Time.

The company says only that "some" users are affected, but social media reports suggest the outage is fairly widespread.

Apple is also having problems with its retail store systems, with a number of users reporting that employees are unable to complete customer purchases or support requests.

Update: Apple Cash, Apple Pay card management, and Mail Drop are now also affected.

The number of services is going down. I'm not able to login since hours. I'm not able to access to any iCloud service and I'm really worried about the security of my iCloud data including credit card information.

All my iCloud services were down from about 11:45 EDT until about 1:30PM EDT. Services restored now.

Outage being reported globally.

Walled garden is partially down. This event has given me a reason to look for a more resilient solution for email, calendar and contacts. I don’t mind paying for something either now. When it’s free, there’s no serious SLA. I rely on my email and calendar and it was my mistake to rely on iCloud for service. I need business class reliability.

Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake near Ridgecrest, CA about one hour ago. The issue is likely connected to this major earthquake, which has had over 20 aftershocks of magnitude 3.0+ already...

what exactly made it awkward? "I would like to purchase this" "system is down, sorry, not sure how long for" "oh, weird, ok"

It’s clearly stated in the iCloud TOU that those services are not meant for business use. Soooo...

The iCloud issues started at 8:51 AM PDT. The timing doesn't line up.

Major first world issue here. Think what would happen if the internet had the kill switch so many governments want. Apple goes down, a guy can’t get his watch fixed, it’s the Apocalypse! Abandon all hope ye who enter here says the sign on every Apple store.

do not try to update your apps. Geez you will go through an endless cycle of payment not valid

Yesterday, it was Facebook & Instagram. Now it's Apple. Internet's grounds are shaking, probably due to a massive pirate/terrorist attack.

The world is changing. Learn how to grow seeds, do your own fire, hide, make a shelter. YouTube won't be there when you'll need it. Don't trust anyone.

Good news. Majority of services have been fixed.

That's right around the time of the earthquake this morning in CA.

Related to the earthquake just reported?

That's what I think. The timing is right on.

I said something about Iran but this was before I knew about the earthquake that hit California.

However, Iran they did say they were going to hit us with cyber attacks.

God bless the people going through this earthquake. May everyone be safe & sound!
