If so that is a very good sign. In the past the announcement occurred on the second day of the show. Optimistic and fingers crossed.
I think so. He doesn't want his message on song pricing to be drowned out by new product announcements.

And further to that, Apple does seem to be breaking with tradition as of late and actually making annoucnements on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays, like they always used to. Never give up hope I guess! ;)

So let me get this right...the black curtains are still up?

Yes, does anybody have an idea what happened to those bloody black curtains? Forget the computers, I wanna get a pair of those curtains

I know that I (hell, we) seem to grasping a straws here, but haven't most announcements this year been made on Wednesdays?

Have they been made on a Wednesday? I can't remember.

Whatever updates are coming for the PM and PB, I wouldn't expect any big event or announcement. I think it'll just be a quiet Tuesday release to announce minor upgrades... like the last iBook and mini announcement.

Maybe next Tuesday or the week after.

Sounds reasonable to me anwyay.

I guess we are going to go through all this again tomorrow night!

Might I suggest a new thread so we can start from scratch?

Hee Hee

But a few more days of this madness and we just might surpass the Mighty Mouse thread?

Yes, there definitely have been a few this year - not everything has been on a Tuesday as with previous years...

Apple and Steve just seem to like changing routines often. They are aware that we follow patterns. This is all to keep us guessing and on our toes.

Well, the black curtains are just covering the shiny new .Mac 3.0 boxes...and that's all...kinda disappointing, huh?

Just want to let you know that..

Steve Jobs did in fact confirm that the iTunes phone (ROKR) was nothing but a phone that they had developed software for. In fact, Steve had no comment on the phone at all.

He did also reveal that he does not believe in mobile phone music services. He did not say anything about a phone being an mp3 capable player, however.

Steve continued saying that he will never put down his plans on a piece of paper as it would be a roadmap for his competition. Instead, he prefers to see them in the rear window.

Is that so or is it another part of the Expo?
I think macbidouille would have mentioned it...

Its unfathomable that there won't be any updates for the immediate future. OK, the PM has had an update more recently than the PB's but Steve must have meant the dual core processors when he talked about the "new and exciting" PPC products still ahead.
Words like "exciting" or "amazing" sit quite loosely at Mr Jobs, y'know...

Oh well, guess no updates this time, unless Apple was to announce on the 2nd day of the event, but IMO I don't think they will.

I'm going to the Expo tomorrow though, still looking forward to it! :D Maybe we'll get some updates later in the year.

It's past 9AM in Cupertino and still the black cloth is up. No updates today I guess. Maybe tomorrow.

The caption underneath the photo confirms this...so...we're not dreaming...that's that for the black cloth.

All I can say is...YAWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...what a disappointment...I was expecting to return to Brazil and give my father an updated Mac Mini (or a cheaper one with better specs), but I think nothing will show up, not even minuscule speed bumps for PBs or the predicted 970MPs...again, utterly disappointing.

Now I can imagine a keynote for .Mac:

"Thank you, thank you all for coming...we've got some GREAT stuff for you today!"

Historical evolution of .Mac, as far back as eWorld...then...

"So today we're introducing .Mac 3.0, with 1 MONSTROUS GIGABYTE of storage and email and a new version of Backup for y'all!!!!!!!"

Silence in the audience, a guy hangs himself in the back of the auditorium, men in black quietly remove him from the place...

But then, SJ comes with the famous "oh, and one more thing..."

Different people start babbling and screaming..."PBs G5!!!"..."PMs Dual-Dual Core!!!"..."the iTablet!!!"..."Knowledge Navigator Redux!!!!!"..."the New Cube!!"...

But to the dismay of all spectators, SJ approaches and clicks the remote of his Keynote-driven presentation once more...

"Yep, one more thing...SPECIAL .Mac Widgets!!! Ain't that amazing?? Y'know, we worked really hard on them...you just install'em and bum! Automatic backup of your machine!"

And then the real "bum" occurs...SJ explodes in a cloud of smoke and is replaced on the spot by the band Ballmer and his Monkeys...

What a great Apple Expo!!!!
