The only people that knew about the "development" cycle, were developers and those that watch the Keynotes.
The average person doesn't do that, so yes, it was definitely wrong for Apple to even mention Apple Intelligence in all of their advertising for the iPhone 16. Not to mention, one could argue that Apple's only avenue to selling the iPhone 16 was to include language about how it includes "Apple Intelligence," as there wasn't a single other feature worth upgrading for.
In other words, the only reason why Apple was able to sell a lot of iPhone 16's was because uninformed people were told the phone would have all of the Apple Intelligence features enabled -- otherwise, why would anyone have upgraded to it? One could have just purchased an iPhone 15 through their carrier for $1.99 a month. Apple knew the iPhone 16 would be a flop without advertising "Built for Apple Intelligence" as the phone's catch phrase. So because of that, Apple definitely owes people money and an apology -- essentially because they scammed everyone with their bait and switch tactic.
Tim definitely needs to answer for this, and why Apple can't come up with hardware and software that's innovative. There needs to be a full investigation into his latest, illegal shenanigans. You know why they can't won't be able to provide a solid answer to the investigation? Because Tim isn't qualified to be in the position he's in as a tech CEO.
