Booooo. I wish somebody would get their **** together already... heads need to roll.

Heads 'need to' roll? Because they will gather moss if they don't?

This comment is just comedy. The limits of this ilk were pushed quite some time ago by several other manufacturers. Just keep it real.

good use of 'ilk'. Keep expanding our vocabulary.

How dare Apple delay a product that hasn't been announced or even confirmed!

They do it all the time. get used to it.

This just in, the iWatch has been pushed back and will now come out after the AppleTV app store which has in turn also been pushed back.

They are usually not expected to ship tens of millions of the same product per quarter

Very true. Also Apple tends to add their own requirements which introduces further complexities.

Samsung also does suffer from this problem too. This is one of reasons why LG's G2 and G3 have better specs than Samsung counterparts in some areas.

That's nearly an extra 13% display- and workspace. It might not seem like much to some, but for someone that regularly edits documents on their phone because of time sensitivity, every little bit helps.

What I meant was that the Z30 display is a lot more like the 4.7" iPhone's and far from the 5.5" display in terms of size. Since you seemed to value the screen size a lot, I thought that was worth pointing out and even the Z30 might be too small for your needs.

Personally I've moved between 4.7" and 4.5" phones in recent months (about 10-11% screen size difference), and didn't feel it was that noticeable even in document editing.

did anyone think this would ship this year?

its shipping in May to further take the air out for Samsung's next flagship

I would say Samsung's true flagship is the Galaxy Note since it's sold at a higher price point as well as more ambitious internals. But I also do wonder if Apple will make early months of a year less vacant in the future.

Off note:
I have been on MacRumors 5 years and let me tell you the fanboyism has gotten significantly worse since I first started here.

I think we just have more postings with strong emotions with little fact than before, for both for and against Apple. I've been reading Macrumors for more than 10 years and I feel the anti-Apple sentiment is stronger than ever before too. I see a good amount of posters who either overtly or subtly try to spin almost anything about Apple into a negative story for the company all the time while criticizing fanboyism. This is fairly special since you don't see too many other internet forums dedicated to a brand packed with a lot of people who really dislike the brand but still can't stay away from talking about it.

Then again when the iPod was introduced, Macrumors was full of posters who were crying the inevitable decline of Apple and the coming doom. That was over a decade ago.

I wouldn't bet against the iPhone coming in 2 screen sizes. I don't understand why so many people around here are getting irrationally angry about how this phone doesn't exist and it's the worst idea ever etc. etc. Why do you all care so much? If you don't like it, don't buy it.

It is a guessing game.
People on this forum after a while feel they can read the tea leaves
If they don't read them as the current rumours go
they get upset.
But it is just a game.
So it's all good

Apple doesn't make displays, they buy them from other companies and since Apple is trying its hardest to use the least amount of Samsung parts, Apple is stuck with companies that have trouble making good displays.

Completely wrong. Samsung doesn't make phone LCD displays. Apple staying away from Samsung for the iPhone display is a myth. As far as I can remember LG has always been the main supplier of iPhone displays, and Apple added other suppliers recently such as Sharp.

5.5" version delayed? Good, there's still some time before I start seeing those ridiculous things everywhere.

I don't see apple a abandoning the 4" screen size. I don't see them comming out with an iPhablet either. That's basically saying the Android companies where right and Apple was wrong.

4" yes 4.7" probably 5.5" no, not as an iPhone.

To be honest, I have a feeling that 5.5' is not coming at all. It's like the news when everyone thought iPad Mini Retina was coming but it didn't until later on.

By a slow death, do you mean they not only continued to have the top selling phone of the year both domestically and internationally for the 7th year in a row, but they were the only OS to increase market share this year? Is that what you mean by they're dying a slow death in this market?

If this happens it's game over for Apple in the smartphone market. Apple is already dying a slow death in this market; this will just about put the nail in the coffin.

Not seeing any leaks is not proof it isn't coming out, all we have is a black front panel leak, have you seen white, gold, or silver? Just because you haven't doesn't mean that the iPhone 6 will only be available in black, the manufacturing hasn't started yet. Please stop jumping to conclusions.

I know Apple isn't using Samsung for the iphone (small) displays, thats why they are having supply issues. That was my point. Have you heard of supply issues with the displays in the iPad Airs or macbook pros in the past? I wonder why.

Yes we've heard of supply issues in the iPads every time they came with new display specs. Not so much with the Air because the Air's display is identical to the previous two generations and Apple has already sorted out the supply problems over two years by the time the Air was released.

My objection was with this statement of yours: "Apple is trying its hardest to use the least amount of Samsung parts, Apple is stuck with companies that have trouble making good displays" which imples Apple isn't using Samsung because Apple doesn't want Samsung displays in the iPhones, that's simply not true.

The only apple device I remember was delayed was the white iPhone 4, and that was because of paint issues, I believe. I don't think that they'll delay the iPhone 6. I think it'll be released right on time.

The iPad Mini Retina was delayed by about a month and it was supply constrained for a while. That was less than a year ago and so many of us already forgotten about it!

More trashy analyst reporting. It was never delayed, Apple has no problem making a 5.5" phone, or a 6.5" phone, or an iPad Mini, iPad air or any other size device they can imagine and have working, polished, manufacturable models ready to roll.

As many said here on these forums, a 5.5" was unlikely this year, the idea that it would come out a few months after the 4.7" screamed un-apple (the white iPhone was a mistake they won't make again quickly) and now the 'ever reliable' Kuo is backing off his random blatherings.

Why was the white one a mistake?

These analysts create these stories to get attention... and sometimes to manipulate the stock price. Here is the same analyst a year ago talking about delays in the 5s and 5c iPhones and he stated there would NOT be an iPad Mini with a Retina display released in 2013.

http://www.technologytell.com/apple...phone-and-ipad-5-could-launch-late-september/

Last year in March, this analyst also said the iPhone 5s / 5c would be announced in June and on sale in July for an earlier launch.

The guy is talking crap, there will be no lengthy delay, Apple would be more likely not develop a larger model than have it slip to the following year. This guy gives no sources or how he came by this information. It's all BS.
