"Trust me on this the phone isn't even bigger than the iphone"

Ummm...Not for nothin, but you posted a picture of the 2 side by side. If you say the HTC is not any bigger then the iPhone, well then, nothing you say after that is worth anything. It's dramatically bigger. It might be a joy to hold, but it's for sure bigger.

And I get the feeling you are trying to convince/force yourself to love the phone. Your rant is not geniune. Truth is, Android is FAR from perfecting the OS and IMO not even close to iOS. It's buggy, loaded with crap, the marketplace is like a war zone with mines all over the place, and the over saturated Amoled display looks like my TV with all the color & brightness settings cranked to the max. It's cool to look at for the first 5 minutes, but quickly becomes un-realistic and annoying.

You just keep on saying that Apple forced you away. But I will bet the house that when the 5 is released, you will switch right back.

"Trust me on this the phone isn't even bigger than the iPhone...."

Um, do you really expect anyone to take you seriously when you post something like this right next to a picture showing your statement to be blatantly false and inaccurate. How are we to trust any of the other claims made in your post?

I want to make an announcement that I just bought the HTC One S. I was forced by apple to switch over to android. One year cycle for phones is just dumb and they are stupidly stubborn to keep sticking to that 3.5" screen. Since the launch of the original iphone there hardly has been any innovation at all. They gave me no option and so I had to buy from the competition.

Check out this bad boy next to my old iphone 4.

When it comes to speed this thing just blows the iphone out of the water. It is just insane how fast this thing is compared to the iphone. Webbrowsing is superfast. The screen is stunning too. 4.3-4.7" is the new 3.5". Trust me on this the phone isn't even bigger than the iphone. Its even more compact and user-friendly than the iphone because its substantially thinner.

Android has all the apps that I use on my iphone and even all of my favorite games. I am missing nothing at all in the software department. Although android is buggy as hell. I had a few apps crash on me already. I don't if this is a feature or a real bug where I did something wrong. It could also be just my imagination. But its a minor inconvenience. ios used to crash on me all the time too. Theres nothing to worry about. Another annoyance is all the bloatware that comes preinstalled on a brand spanking new phone. Way more than iphone ever has.

Overal I am very happy with my purchase. I don't miss anything on my iphone at all except maybe for the easy syncing but I got that covered too. Android is way more customizable too. That is a PRO and not con
don't worry...you'll be back!!

i have tried to go to other phones many times and they aren't always as good as you might think. You may be good for awhile, but eventually you will be back the next time apple comes out with a new phone.

OP should have said "it doesn't feel any larger because of the sleek design".

Anyway, if the One S was coming to AT&T, I'd be first in line. Definitely checking out the "X" though 4.7" is a tad large.

I didn't mean that it was literally bigger than the iphone. I meant that it feels a lot more compact and slick, when holding it and slipping it in your pocket. Yeah its not science but that is how it feels to me. The iphone feels chubby.

And the software is a bit buggy but it could also be my imagination or caused by my own random actions. It doesn't bother me anyway. I like android because its new and refreshing and I can do a lot more customizing. It doesn't really get boring. As for the apps, it has every app I use on my iphone and those are very good apps by respectable software companies.

But man why are you guys hating. I just said that I prefer amoled colors but I wish it has the sharpness of LCD's. Well thats just my opinion. There are people that listen to tube amplifiers because they prefer the sound over ss amps. BTW for your information I tried getting the colors like that on my macbook and I was unable to reproduce amoled colors!

maybe it's how you went about it by making this thread etc? also, saying how apple forced you haha

I don't see anyone here "hating" on you, hell I even posted a video of the thing in action since all you "excited" us with was a still image of both phones, off, and mirrored to boot.

I simply didn't see the need for the "I have an announcement to make", it sounded juvenile and more like attention seeking. Enjoy your new phone, I sincerely mean that, but this thread would genuinely have been better off on an Android forum where your new likeminded users would have welcomed you, given you hints, links to other useful information, etc.

Until the day an Android phone has the likes of Infinity Blade II, Soul Calibur, proper support for Sky (Britain's biggest satellite TV provider) and their apps, and iPhoto, I'd honestly leave out serious app comparisons to the iOS platform to save face mate.

Android does, and always has, lacked the same level of quality as iOS when it comes to 3rd (and 1st) party apps.

You should know by now that once you start talking about subjective things like what kind of screen/colors you like better or abstract things like innovation, you're opening up a floor for debate. Even things like "This has a faster processor!" cause argument because, frankly, the difference isn't significant for how some people use their phones. People will defend their purchases, similar to how you're doing it right now with your new HTC, but it definitely comes off as preachy and condescending. People tend to appreciate discussion, not a blatant advertisement and self-promotion.

To the OP,
You and this guy should talk. :)
You're not being "hated on" for posting about Android in this forum, its just the way you went about announcing it. Its just like the other guy, even though he's doing the opposite (announcing why he doesn't like Android).

I hope Apple didn't force you to make a thread here.

Congratulation on your purchase. You can now go to an Android forum and discuss it there. If you have an iPhone question then we are happy to help you out.

Oh, it will. Everything does eventually. I bet you in two weeks time it'll feel a lot less new and refreshing. And in four weeks it'll feel like a phone running linux.

oh, wait..

I want to make an announcement ...
Surely you mean an Advertisement? ..and I'm not calling you Shirley.

Why do Android fanboys always post to iPhone forums ..don't you think we take Android\Windows handsets into account before we make our purchase?

We're not all Lemmings and, believe it or not, some of us even have a mind of our own. So now you've sold your soul and come back to see if you can convince a few other weak-kneed individuals to join you.

I need to know: what will you gain if even 1 iPhone owner decides to cave in to your assertions and switch? Are you looking for Approval? Justification? or are you a salesperson in disguise? and what makes you think you can do what Google\HTC\Motorola\Samsungs $multi-millions in advertising can't?

Also, I wonder if I am the only one who perceives a correlation between the crowd clamoring for bigger screens and being 'bored' with a frickin phone

Don't worry he'll be back sooner or later.

I was just reading some 'Colemanballs'. OP has quite a few here...

I switched to the skyrocket on Feb 1 and haven't looked back. Loved the iPhones I've owned and still have deactivated 4 - but any small negatives are outweighed by the positives for my use case/experience with Android and the Skyrocket.

To each their own.
