because of a holiday gift? The Apple I once admired is looking rather worn and tattered.

they can just cancel and re-sign up?And what do the employees get who were already an Apple music subscriber anyway?
"You know Clark, that's the gift that keeps on giving..."C'mon Eddie, why not 12 months? Lmao.
Because the first three months are free! What's with this 9 months ****? Make an even year, Apple, come on!
I worked at an Apple retail store back when .Mac was a paid subscription service and all employees got it for free. I can't believe they don't do the same thing for Apple Music. I realize the margins are lower on Apple Music than they were on .Mac but still. Talk about being cheap.
Add the free 3 months on and it is a year, that's why.
Because they already have access to 3 months free. This just extends it.I was going to say the same thing - seriously, not a whole year??? Hahahaha
Well, for my current music library, half of songs are just NOT available in Apple Music.
Plus, I am not living a country where "unlimited" data is so popular.
No, I do not need Apple Music. But hey, if someone could give me a full year sub for free, I think I can try it out. At least, play with Apple's poor anime music library.
Why are you even here? LMAOThe Apple I once admired is looking rather worn and tattered.
It is not free to Apple, they will pay the artists/record companies. Please don't get Taylor Swift riled up again!Apple Music subscriptions for the employees cost the company NOTHING but server access cycles. The company looses nothing when additional individuals access the digital files (but a fraction or two electrical usage).
It would be awesome if Apple would actually give these gifts to their employees that are supporting it. Not just retail store employees.
Apple last week provided all of its employees with urBeats earphones from the Beats by Dr. Dre product lineup as part of an annual holiday gift, and today iTunes chief Eddy Cue told Apple employees they would also receive a free nine-month subscription to Apple Music.
Cue shared the news in a video message that went out to employees this morning. Employees will receive an Apple Music promo code later this month, which will allow them to activate their free subscriptions.

Valued at $90, the Apple Music subscription paired with the urBeats headphones makes Apple's 2015 gift to its employees one of the most generous the company has offered in recent years. Apple's holiday gifts go out to all of its employees around the world, encompassing Cupertino, satellite offices, and each of its retail locations.
In addition to being a nice perk for employees, offering an Apple Music subscription to all of its employees will have benefits for Apple, as it will allow retail workers to familiarize themselves with the service so they can better explain and recommend it to customers.

This is true. I have never gotten a christmas bonus or even a thank you at christmas from any job I have ever worked at. Apple is at least doing something here.Oh for goodness sakes. Most companies give their staff nothing.
Seems like the first sentence of the article talks about the gifts their employees received. It would be awesome if Apple would actually give these gifts to their employees that are supporting it. Not just retail store employees.
Anything to get the subscriber numbers up
I would say 6.5 million paid subscribers within five months is quite impressive.Yup, same technique is done with employee issues stock to keep the company valuation up. Starbucks was accused of this many times.
It's better than nothing. My previous in ear headphones were UrBeats, Im never EVER going to buy those again!
They feel really plastic, the sound quality sounds really cheap (and Im not even an audiophile) and things started breaking one by one from early on (starting with the remote control buttons)
UrBeats as a xmas present when you are an employee for the worlds most valuable company. Wow, thats seriously cheap. I wouldnt know if I would have taken that as anything else than an insult - its definately one of Apples worst products.
As a paying customer I think Apple Music is way better than any other service except for the UI design. Can you tell us what you think is so terrible about it?Nice sentiment. Shame the service is so terrible. But I know Apple means well.
