LOL.

This is a great thread to see who the trolls are on this forum. Those who are bashing Apple for giving away $15 million worth of earbuds are obvious trolls. This of course is in addition to employee stock options (every employee) and bonus.

I'm just sharing my experience with the iPad pro. You are the one telling me the facts of how the apple business operates. Feel free to back up your assertitions, you are the one labelling Tim the logistics genius.

My understanding is that much of the industry has labelled him as such.
I am simply deferring to those with greater expertise and knowledge in that area. I will happily acknowledge that I don't keep up with that as much as I would like, as I will preferentially focus on publications in my own field of expertise.

When Apple purchased Beats, I expected headphones like this to start being included with new iDevices.

I'm still holding onto some hope that the 2017 lineup will begin doing just this. It's about time Apple updated the default earbuds anyway. I like the current ones, but they can be improved.

yeah...$99.95 for earbuds...I guess the Beats tax is even more than the supposed Apple tax

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Apple eventually stopped including any sort of headphones with their iPhones in the future. I also wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the price of the iPod touch by $25 and stopped including headphones so they could sell you a pair of beats headphones for $99.95 (or the traditional earbuds for $45.99 LOL)

I don't think working in Apple retail is a "dream" for anyone.

There a lot of people working in lousy retail jobs who would love to work at an Apple store. Apple treats their employees very well with good benefits, career opportunities, hefty discounts on Apple products and considerate gifts like this to reward them for being part of the success story.

Not bad.

It's also a gift to stockholders as well since this is a $13-15mm write off as a company.

Im sure many 16-24 year olds are thrilled. Working seasonally here for the holidays and 'hey heres some decent headphones.'

Amazing earphones and I would be very happy right now if I was an Apple employee. It's no wonder why so many people dream about working for this company. Tim Cook is doing an incredible job right now.

I can only assume from that comment you ARE Tim Cook, and claim my UrBeats headphones.

He just explained it to you. Point blank.

I fail to accept that as a reason to compare these gifts. I don't know of a single person that has left a job due to not getting a gift and feeling that ruined the morale or feeling of appreciation from a company and I imagine most people don't know anyone who has. We are talking company wide gifts which are something simple like mugs or headphones. Obviously if you are talking about people higher up in the company leaving over bonuses in the thousands of dollars and what not, I agree, but on a basic employee level I don't think it has much of an impact.

Does that include people who fail at maths on this thread?

Or people who think Apple has 150 000 retail employees?

Or people who believe these beats cost apple $100?

That $15 million..... Do tell? With maths like this, employees will be getting $250 000 each Between the Beats, stock opitions, and those lucrative retail employee bonuses.

/end sarcasm

You did not read the story that this is for retail employees did you? Just jumped in ! Trolls on these forum are NOT just apple Bashers

Gift to employees - yes. Gift to shareholders - no.

There are just under 5.6 Billion shares outstanding, as of close today.
A tax deduction based on $15M spread over this many shares amounts to "not worth the effort". (I would estimate it at less than 1/10 of a cent per share.)

Nice gesture.

All I got from work was a lousy holiday bonus to pay down the mortgage and buy an engagement ring.

Honestly, something free is better than nothing, and these are pretty decent headphones for mainstream consumers.

Apple retail position is extremely better than any other retail I know of. Better pay, good employee benefits, gifts, stock options.... can't think of a single retail position that can match that.

Maybe other Fortune 500 companies pay their employees better than Apple's retail? Just a thought…

Hmmm....speak from knowledge please. Apple Retail pay is MORE than almost any other retail company...PERIOD. You do know there are Geniuses and Creatives making $60-70K a year...PLUS full medical, dental and vision..life insurance, 401k AND they just gave employees FREE RSU's...No other retail company gives RSU's. Thats free stock. This is better than ANY retail company in the world. Oh and healthy discounts on apple products as well as 3rd party discounts and perks. Those complaining have no clue about what they are talking about.

Hey where I work (Fortune 20 company) employees get nothing for the holidays.

You'll get nothing and like it.

(I've never received a bonus in my life until my current employer. And I don't feel entitled to one like many of co-workers.)

I'll see your sarcasm and raise you one...

Well, since they get taxed like people do, and can be sued like people can, yet they cannot vote like people do. Kind of odd that a construct of the human mind to shield people from obtrusive tax and liability laws doesn't have certain rights endowed by their creators.

Corporation certainly can vote.....do you know what a lobbyist is? THATS HOW THEY VOTE! Do you know how much money gets funneled to candidates and politicians from various corporations? That money carries more weight that both yours and my vote. I hope that was an oversight and you aren't that blind to the facts.
