God, these are brutally ugly. Little utility, ugly, and expensive, sweet jeebus. How did these ever get made???? I just don't understand.

I hate those fashion designers. A whole industry of people without any significance in the real world outside their little bubble. They should be the first ones to board ship A even before the telephone sanitizers.
And even among those he is an especially ridiculous specimen.

Hmm, where did I see this before?

Why make Gold watches just to give them away to rich people! Lol, they should get them to buy them instead! Come on, Apple! I know this is just a few celebrities, but get it together!
Essentially advertising/trendsetting that ultimately helps Apple establish the product and sell more of it.

April 25, 2018: Apple releases Watch OS 4.0. Requires Watch 2 and above (not supported on Watch 1).

And that stops the 1.0 watches from working or doing what they've been doing until that time? Or somehow makes the gold ones lose the gold in them?

In some sense, yes, it's likely it will essentially stop working if you want to use the latest iPhone running the latest software with it. If the Apple Watch were a stand alone device, this would be different, but it's not. It's unclear how long the life span of an Apple Watch will be.

It looks horrible. I wonder what Mr. Lagerfeld really thinks.

Lots of people spend tons and tons of money on clothes designed by Karl Lagerfeld. And a few of these people, who care about what he designs and pay tons of money for it, will also care about what watch he wears and buy the same watch.

I wouldn't, but lots of people with tons of spare cash will.

That's the difference between him and Kate Perry or Pharrell Williams: Rich people won't copy what they do. But they will copy what Lagerfeld wears.

Karl Lagerfeld wears gloves like those to hide the signs of his age - because he's 81. It's the same reason why you never see his neck.

There is a race to the top in jewelry, villas, and jets. The Steve Jobs yacht is a clear example and he was a "minimalist". I would not be at all surprised if this bracelet was made in unit quantities of 1000 so the inevitable needers of the best can also acquire what this designer earned by stature.

I also wonder if Apple has a "black site" for the upper echelon of spenders who care not about updating the Watch hardware in the future so long as everything surrounding it is so opulent as to ensure jealousy among the sycophants.

Genius bar or Millionaire's bar? $25k is small potatoes for a multi-millionaire. It's well less than a month's interest and might be tax deductible!

Does anyone remember when Powerbooks actually cost $8k?

Nice gloves pal..... I'll leave it at that.

the glove is probably more expensive than the watch...

I'm about 4 gold links away from seriously checking out Linux...

Steve Jobs' Apple is officially dead. RIP :apple:

Just the gold used in the Modern Buckle band raises the price of the Apple Watch Edition from $10,000 (with Sport band) to $17,000, so the price of a pure gold Link Bracelet would likely be upwards of $25,000. The Link Bracelet for the standard Apple Watch is priced at $449 and is Apple's most expensive band.

Come on MacRumors, there is NOT 7,000 worth of gold in the Modern Buckle Band, that's just a silly comment. Does the band cost more then 7K, yes, is it because there is 7K worth of gold in it? NO. Gold is $1200 an ounce today, there IS NOT 6 ounces of gold in there (and thats calculating it as if its 24K gold not the 18K gold it actually is). None of the watches weigh 6 ounces band and all, much less the little gold buckle weighing that much. In fact that solid gold band this article is about weights much less then 6 ounces with the watch, as does much larger gold watches from Rolex and other makers of luxury watches.

While it's possible some apps or something like that might lose some functionality, it's not likely that most things will stop working or be degraded to a noticeable degree.

Am I the only one here that loves the SS with the white sports band? That boy looks classy!

Then you are in this for all the wrong reasons.

Like drugs or trashy magazines and newspapers, no one is forced to buy them. If you could make hundreds or thousands percentage markups on your products, would you?
I do like nice things though, especially if they're useful, but mostly I can't afford them, and if you could see me, you'd understand that I don't give a rodents rectum about fashion. Or monster trucks, while we're on the subject of fashion.
Telephone sanitisers would have to be quite mobile and busy these days.
