Well, the X, XS and 11 Pro 5.8" chassis is next on the conveyer belt after the iPhone 8 design, so would make sense if the SE4 uses the same body. The only issue is the SS frame, but they could switch this to aluminium. The OLED screens in those phones are the older variant that don't have ceramic shield etc.

No reason to go bigger. iPhone SE should only attract the market that admires the iPhone Mini.
Agreed.

Apple already has a fully working production fab for 5.4" OLED and its already pared to FaceID.
Unless there is specific reason for longer battery life ~ not that I've seen advertised or mentioned with the SE 2/3 then with refined production, maybe remove FaceID and put TouchID into the Power/Sleep/Wake button then the 13 mini with 1 camera will work.

heck 1 camera, larger battery and TouchID/Face ID and you've got the perfect SE3. Making it bigger isnt' necessarily going to help - 14 Plus has shown us and Apple that.

It’s gonna have A16 and it’s OLED. They can’t bring the prices of the flagship models down anymore and with inflation, they will need to charge that.

PWM sensitivity sufferers need an LCD based option from Apple, so I’m hoping it’s LCD.

LED please unless Apple can fix the PWM issue. The best would be if it were just based off the 8 Plus. 2nd best would be if was based on the XR/11.
I find it odd that with so many Android phones using OLED or AMOLED that PWM isn't an issue for any of their users. So whats Apple messing about with?

The iPhone X debuted with the iPhone 8 - same announcement and same launch times.

The XS is after,
the XR is after as well.

which same body are you talking about the X/XS or the 8 since all 3 are mentioned in the same sentence. The 8 is slightly more updated than the iphone 7 design chassis that the current SE/SE2 uses.

Yesss please. I don’t care if its LCD or OLED but I’d love iPhone X form factor. I currently have XR and it’s just too big for one handed use. It would make sense to use X body because they want to keep SE as the small phone, right?

I find it highly unlikely that Apple would unveil a bespoke cheap iPhone with 5.7", although there are of course a few things Apple had never done until they did.

I have a Mini and the 5.4" are mostly fine, but slightly bigger would be nice occasionally. My wife has an iPhone 12 for work and 6.1" is just too big and unwieldy.

My ideal form factor would always have been the 6/7/8 size, so slightly smaller than the X/XS, but with an all-screen design. But I think the chances for that are basically non-existent.

If they go OLED, you can pretty much expect it to be way more than $429, expect it to jump to 599, especially with inflation.
If the “cheapest” iPhone goes that high, I don’t even want to imagine the price hikes for the Pro/Ultra models. The iPad 10 appears to be leading the way for a higher price “basement” and it’s not a good trend.

I don’t expect Apple to move the SE to OLED until the “next big thing” in screen technology is implemented into their latest and greatest phones. Which we are obviously years away from.

It won’t be a mini, just stop. 😤 The mini is too luxe/premium for a budget SE. Apple probably would have stopped selling the 13 mini by now if that were the plan.

I’m sure there are other production lines/parts they can use at a lower cost instead, which will likely be the objective here.
Is it though? Last time I checked the SE’s design was the premium flagship iPhone 8 in 2017.

I guess Apple can do whatever they want with the SE, but they’d be smart to keep the smaller form factor, which the XR doesn’t have.
