Apple Holding iPhone 4 Press Conference on Friday

Wow! "Apple's Holding iPhone 4 Press Conference" ??? Hope they don't hold it the wrong way and touch the corner. :p

I really don't think everyone will stop complaining with just a free bumper.

:) funny. No the fact there is a large range of signal strength in cell coverage areas has nothing to do with the design flaw of having a 20+ dBm signal strength drop from holding a phone normally. Just doesn't make a difference to those that still have a strong enough signal in spite of it.
 
Apple will offer people free bumpers with current iPhones, new models will be released with the flaw fixed soon.

*If apple are putting a painted coating around the Steel frame, it would be cool if they offered them in colors, but I doubt they will happen.

Good news is given early in the week, so you can get the most business press.

Bad news is always given late on a Friday, so it has less time to affect the stock, and everyone has the weekend to cool off.

So this will likely be bad news.

If it were another company, I'd say they were going to announce Jobs' retirement over the problems, and thus deflect attention and gain sympathy. But I don't think he wants to leave that way.

Because of the lengthy shipping delays, they will extend the iPhone 4 return period for a complete refund from 30 days to 60 days. If you're not satisfied, send your i4 back.

For people who report a problem with signals dropping when they hold their phone naked, they will claim this is completely normal for a high performance external antenna in weak coverage areas, but perhaps offer a $30 Apple store certificate for a case (or some duct tape) to help ameliorate the customer.

Then they'll move on to announcing more countries, Game Center, and maybe white i4s.

Friday news is never announced on Wednesday and is only released in a press statement after the Stock Markets close.

They need to limit the damage now. Issue a recall already. If you push on the gap between the bottom left side of the phone the signal drops within 10 seconds. They all do it. Trust me you can replicate it. You don't have a special one.

No one is forced to buy it. But you can't have people buying it with contracts only to find out later its defective in its most important aspect i.e. being a phone.
 
It's making the news already - will be hard to fob people off with a story about Verizon or Gameface or whatever it is...
 
They will announce 2 new iPhone models:

- the iPhone4 L = to be held in the left hand
- the iPhone4 R = to be held in the right hand

Of course everyone now has the iPhone4 R model :)

They will also blame gizmodo for stealing the magic out of their iPhone 4 and they are now wanting the magic back :D
 
Apple seems to make a step forward, but the haters keep on bashing and flaming.
Everything Apple does is bad.
