I would have been ripped if they did that to me. After all it's the store that has to confirm "availability," before a pickup notice is send. Did you talk to the manager? At the very least he should have given you a coupon or something to make up for your lost time/gas.

I had no problem at the Best Buy I went to. Near the Biltmore Apple Store (Phoenix, AZ), which did NOT have the iLife 09... SUCKS. I would rather give my money to Apple, but to get it today, I would rather just have it today and see Best Buy get their $20 cut (my guess on their profit). I didn't order it online at Best Buy. Just walked in and asked the guy behind the computer counter... he handed me one, instantly. No thoughts of should they wait until tomorrow. If it were the movie or audio departments, I am pretty sure they would make us wait until Tuesday/Wednesday (the day for DVD and CD releases).

Went to Best Buy in Brooklyn NY and was told I could not pick it up until tomorrow. I threw a small **** fit and was given a 25 dollar gift card for my troubles.

The faces feature on iPhoto looks amazing. I would love to buy it but I don't have $80 sitting around. I already have $130 waiting for Snow Leopard.

I just picked up a copy at the Best Buy in Porter Ranch, CA. No issues whatsoever. I purchased it online and picked it up a couple hours later.

Damn, seems like I'm the only one who's iLife 09 hasn't even shipped. Mine still says "Not Yet Shipped" and I ordered on the day it was available for pre-order. Mine is the up-to-date copy for 9.95. :(

Same here. Picked up my copy at Best Buy with no issues after ordering online. Loading it now.

Did an instore pick up of iLife 09 at the Best Buy in Westfield, IN (just north of Indianapolis). I purchased the single version, but they ended up giving me the family pack. No complaints here!

Question about Family Pack

Figured I'd post this over in this thread now that it's talking about the new iLife'09 (I had posted it over in the earlier thread).

My Mom picked up the "Family Pack" from Best Buy this afternoon for $99.99.....however, Best Buy mislabeled the box. The yellow Best Buy label is for the Family Pack, however, the actual iLife box she got is the standard version, not the family pack.

She DID order the Family Pack, and she does want the Family Pack.

Any reason we should return it to Best Buy to get the actual Family Pack?

Since there are no serial numbers, like someone else mentioned, I guess the only reason would be IF we ever needed to call support for something in iLife.

If you buy a MBP today with iLife '08, do you have to trash the '08 stuff, or does iLife '09 update everything for you automatically when you install?

No problem here picking it up at the West 62nd Street / Broadway Best Buy in NYC.

That's funny....I guess Best Buy can't read! See my post right after yours!

We got the shortend.....a regular pack instead of the Family Pack.

Store Pick-up at bestbuy.com is now greyed out and not an option anymore here in Ventura, CA.

The best reason to get the correct one is that you paid for it and if you decide to resell in later it has more value.

Store Pick Up no longer available

The Store Pick Up option is now grayed out for all stores near my zip 94043.

Got my copy

I went to the store at The District in the Tustin/Irvine area of CA after receiving the confirmation e-mail from Best Buy (pickup). Upon arriving they wouldn't give it to me, but I told the manager that the website clearly stated the release date was yesterday (which it did). She confirmed in their system they shouldn't release it until tomorrow, but since the website was wrong she gave it to me. I did have to be pretty assertive though. Ultimately it was Best Buy's mistake that users had the the option of in-store pickup today and that there date was wrong on their website.

I'm guessing I got my copy before they got a company wide e-mail from Apple (picked up around noon).

I got the Family Pack -- this is beautiful!!! It's so fluent and works wonders!!!

From best buy.

Accurate face detection, recognition. The geotagging is very accurate.
