Holy crap!!! YES!... Mclaren - Honda - Apple! Alonso did well last week, and the engine is coming around. No more of this development tokens nonsense next F1 season and some Apple's money and they up there competing with RedBull And Scuderia
clearly you've never owned a British automobile..."It Just Works."![]()
Naw...that might be a good thing. Better that building a car company from scratch.Wow... this would be pretty crazy. Goodbye to another great British car company.

Where, Apple or McLaren?I have a friend who works there. I wonder if there's going to be the usual round of layoffs following the acquisition.
I disagree. Worst thing is, they all look the same. Much prefer a Zonda.Aston Martins are the most beautiful cars known to man. Killer picture
And, man, they sure can make a turbocharged engine sound GOOD!
edit - If an acquisition by Apple means that McLaren will abandon their core business and stop making supercars, then this is the worst news (rumor, I know) I've heard in a while. I hope it'd just be for the technology, without affecting the day-to-day of McLaren.
If there's one thing we can be sure of, is Apple's "courage" to do what they think is right and to hell with popular opinion. Why and how would they? Apple is not stupid. They know that McLaren is a company with a history and masses of expertise. No-one within Apple will be stupid enough to think they can tell McLaren how to produce and design cars. Maybe we should have a bit more open mind as opposed to thinking we know everything or let cynicism guide our thought processes.
Ahhh, come on now.I disagree. Worst thing is, they all look the same. Much prefer a Zonda.
Just like the swiss watch makers did when Apple approached them. Now their sales are dropping like a rock. Who's laughing now.
Oh. My. Gosh. What a beautiful ride. When did you get rid of it?I had a '71 Triumph GT6+

I thought I was replying about Aston Martin actually, (with their Mondeo switchgear and all).Ahhh, come on now.Yes, McLarens vehicles are all similar. But you're not about to tell me that Pagani's cars don't all look the same, too? I love the Zonda, like you. But Pagani has been building off of that exact same design for over 15 years! Even the Huayra is similar.
In the end Chinese will buy everything more or less valuable anyway.Wow... this would be pretty crazy. Goodbye to another great British car company.
Afterwards is always easy to say "I knew it better" - isn't it?I really don't get why people thought Apple would buy McLaren. There is absolutely zero sense in that acquisition. McLaren doesn't produce mass market cars and there is nothing groundbreaking that McLaren does with cars. On top of that, McLaren operates at a loss, not something Apple would be willing to buy because there is nothing that it can offer to them.
