Why don't developers make some more intensive games for the Mac? It would certainly be a better experience than a 5" touchscreen. There's already a zillion IOS games, but the Mac market is wide open and they could charge $50 for a good game.

Apple must do something... Games are getting bigger to download...

and allot less apps too in the same space.

"Why get a 128GB iPad Air", they said. "Stick with 32 or 64 and save some money" they said. But I got a 128 because I knew that everything would just get bigger and bigger over time. I knew I'd need it and I was right. Especially in a system that can't be upgraded later on, you should max it out from the start. Now Apps can be up to 4GB. I knew it was going to happen.

Who would buy a 16g and think it can be used for storage. A 128g is the only way to go.

32bit is limited in addressable memory to 2G.
So I'd say that this is Apple starting to show the benefits of 64bit.

RAM or memory is different to drive space. Many people don't know the difference between the two. And if my old 32 bit white iMac is any indication, it could hold 4 GB RAM in it but it could only address 3 of those GB of memory.

What you say is correct but it has nothing to do with App sizes of which this article is talking.

Ditto! There is no reason apple can't make the base model storage model 32.

of course there is it is a huge profit.t. they make huge amounts on people finding they need to upgrade to more memory. and once you go up and will never go down.

And it's not even correct.

Just because they didn't create 32 GB versions of the latest model, mostly as a marketing move, doesn't mean that that size is gone and can't be there in future models.

True...They could bring anything back. But I really don't think they will drop 16 and bring back 32 as a base. And I don't see them keeping the 16, 64, 128 for too much longer. With photo files getting larger, apps getting bigger, and people wanting access to all of their content instantly, 16 is becoming more and more useless. Even 32 only has maybe a year or 2 before it's in the same boat as 16.

Bigger apps = more innovation = great news for all consumers. Apple continues to raise the game in ways the competition just can't match. This is why i choose iOS over other platforms.

3 games on a 16gb and you're done!

Games? What about apps for PRODUCTIVITY?

And this goes for iPads, too.

Spent $500 for an iPad with 16GB and cannot load new apps or update iOS due to their sizes. Why can we not increase the storage size?

Time to get rid of your iPhone 4.

For those who make $15 and hour, this is NOT an option.

That iPhone 4 was bought for $99, btw.

I really wish they'd make the ridiculously small 100MB cellular limit optional. Makes sense to set it by default so normal users don't get a large data overage bill. But it should be configurable for users who have a large data plan.

I got the 30GB AT&T plan when it went on special, but I still need to connect to Wi-Fi for large apps, videos, Phototream, etc. I can go around it by linking my iPhone to my iPad hotspot, but shouldn't have to jump through hoops.

----------

We're getting to the point where there really should be a switch to override cellular restrictions. I have a 20GB data plan. Sometimes I want to do bandwidth heavy things on cellular! Hell, sometimes my cellular connection is FASTER than the available Wifi.

If I go over and have to pay overages, it's my fault, not Apple's. Give us an override switch!

I missed your post before I wrote the same thing, agree completely. I'm frequently around slow or no Wi-Fi, so the restrictions are very irritating.

Given that the carriers are pushing large data plans, we should be able to use them without arbitrary restrictions.
