Apple promising eventually to deliver the features that are far from ready is an admission that they are concerned that people will switch to Android where AI features are already available.
Apple executives admitted to being caught with their pants down regarding where AI features were headed, and then rejiggered their plans to include Intelligence features. But they won't rush it to market. The release is being done methodically with great consideration — to be great, not to be first.
I don't expect something regular like monthly but they have released new features in minor .x versions such as the journal app. What they're doing with AI isn't really very different.I wonder if maybe they want to try to move to a more continuous feature development cycle where they drop new features monthly or something. Mentally users might like that more as it would feel like you are getting a device that is constantly getting better. So major versions would be come more like a year roadmap vs a singular version.
My bet is on more ram being required. Look at the increase in number of parameters in each new model. Shipping a phone with the minimum ram requirement for today’s models is just screwing the 16 buyers.Probably the same as 16 buyers if they add 12 ram next year and it’s needed to run ai properly.
Not iOS region setting, but still Apple ID country (you need a US Apple ID).i thought that somewhere during later iOS18 betas, AI became only tied to system language, not region.
"Later this year", and yes. What about Visual Intelligence? Also, is it exclusive to iPhone 16 series?
That was already more or less the case with iOS 17 (if not already 16).I wonder if maybe they want to try to move to a more continuous feature development cycle where they drop new features monthly or something. Mentally users might like that more as it would feel like you are getting a device that is constantly getting better. So major versions would be come more like a year roadmap vs a singular version.
The tagline "See you soon, Apple Intelligence" would've been more accurate."Hello, Apple Intelligence" being the new tagline for both iPhones meanwhile it is not fully ready for another half a year is actually insane for Apple.
Hopefully this is the last time Timmy pulls this nonsense.
This quote is going to age interestingly, given the kind of staggering implications of this kind of thing being dropped on the masses over a ~6 month or whatever period."Hello, Apple Intelligence" being the new tagline for both iPhones meanwhile it is not fully ready for another half a year is actually insane for Apple.
Hopefully this is the last time Timmy pulls this nonsense.
I don't think so. Not enough RAM.Is there any hope for ANY of these features coming to an iphone 14 pro? Or should I just give up hope now?
Apple was clear on this. 15pro or newer. You’re best off waiting this out to see if it takes off. Apple doesn’t have the best track record (see also, Siri). I just got a new battery on my 13pro max and will consider android next time around (2 Years or so) if Apple doesn’t substantially improve their effortsIs there any hope for ANY of these features coming to an iphone 14 pro? Or should I just give up hope now?
I don’t need an espresso. Everything’s great!Get Tim Apple as Espresso, this is ridiculously slow.
