The thing is that I have been doing everything a certain way for all these years that all these new AI work flow adjustments are not gonna be easy for me to adapt to. Habits are hard to break as a 36year old I guess 😅
Do you really want to include Apple with those other OEMs?But it’s ok for every other OEM to rollout half baked garbage and charge for it?
A great big boon to Siri on October 4 would be very welcome birthday present for her, since she could stop being called dumb and hearing that she sucks.Siri was released in October 4, 2011. Seems like Siri is just a "hobby"🤣
Outstanding. Sir please do not redeem the gift cardsthanks for posting that.
i would use slightly different labels for the various responses:
"Friendly" i would label "makes you sound like a 14 boy"
"Professional" i would label "makes you sound as if you have written it with AI"
"Concise" i would label as "call center escapee who found a position in marketing"
Right, I was talking about the requirements in the EU, maybe that was the wrong context. This is incorrect. You do not need a US Apple ID. Language must be English(US) in Settings > Apple Intelligence and Siri, and Settings > General > Language and Region. Region does not have to be US, but does have to be a supported Region, ie not EU or China. UK region is OK.
No E.U. release yet. Unclear if/when it will be. Apple likely needs reassurance from E.U. that the feature is compliant with the DMA. It’s unclear to me if it actually is.There was news about Germany or France release I think. Does it mean an EU release? If yes, what is blocking it, and how will it be resolved?
This used to be called vaporwareIt's so weird that a major emphasis was put on Apple Intelligence for the new iPhone's and yet most of the features are unavailable, but the new phone is available for pre-order.

OK. The EU situation seems a bit unclear to me from that link:Right, I was talking about the requirements in the EU, maybe that was the wrong context.
From https://www.macrumors.com/2024/08/29/apple-intelligence-not-region-locked-betas/ I understood that it works geographically in the EU if you set your language to English (but your region setting doesn’t matter anymore) and use a US App Store ID (which incidentally isn’t necessarily the same as the Apple ID in Settings): “Note that […] users in the EU must still have a device signed in with a US App Store ID.”OK. The EU situation seems a bit unclear to me from that link:
“For European Union residents: Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple ID Country/Region is also in the EU. If traveling outside of the EU, Apple Intelligence will work when your device language and Siri language are set to a supported language.”
Does it mean either Apple ID or Region, or both? Sounds like EU residents travelling outside EU can get it if English (US) is set, even with EU AppleID/Region.
The MacRumors article is the only place I can see that says Apple Store ID as opposed to the main Apple ID. It may be right but I can’t see that the Apple article I linked, or the 9to5 article that MR links, mention it.From https://www.macrumors.com/2024/08/29/apple-intelligence-not-region-locked-betas/ I understood that it works geographically in the EU if you set your language to English (but your region setting doesn’t matter anymore) and use a US App Store ID (which incidentally isn’t necessarily the same as the Apple ID in Settings): “Note that […] users in the EU must still have a device signed in with a US App Store ID.”
In any case, as long as the US App Store ID requirement stands, this will only make a difference for very few EU users. And if Apple is truly worried about regulatory issues, then they can’t drop that requirement, as a EU App Store ID clearly implies that they are doing business in the EU with that device.
New iPhone 15 that’s 6 months old - I have no choice whether I want it - thanks to Tim’s greed.Am I the only one who wants nothing to do with AI or these new features?
It has also been reported here, for example: https://www.heise.de/en/news/iOS-18...ens-access-to-Apple-Intelligence-9855524.htmlThe MacRumors article is the only place I can see that says Apple Store ID as opposed to the main Apple ID. Have we seen any reports from EU users who have set English (US) language and have US Apple ID? I suspect EU IP addresses are blocked regardless of Apple ID or language.
